Chapter 23

Aurora:

Hearing those words made the world around me come to a screeching halt.
My heart stopped beating, my throat was a dry well.

The words in my head weren't coherent. I visibly tensed.

Zachary gave a stiff nod to Luke.

"Aurora I will back, I have to make some arrangements, we will continue this tomorrow" He said rubbing his forehead.

I stood there dumb unable to form a word in my mouth.

"W-what do mean they're here?" I stuttered.

Two pairs of confused eyes were on me. This was too much for me to handle, I can't take this anymore.

"Y-you can't l-let him in!" I pleaded helplessly.

At the same time my legs decided to give up on me, I felt wobbly losing my balance.

Zachary sensed something was up with me and came hurrying next to me as he held my arms and steadied Me. Luke watched me with worried eyes.

"Aurora, kitten what's wrong? Is something bugging you?" My mate asked visibly worried about me.
If this was other time I would have felt this was cute but not now.

I gave him a small nod.

He ushered me to sit on the bed. " Luke, inform Theo I will be late, we will let them in tomorrow morning" He said gruffly and sat beside me, stroking my back. It immediately soothed my nerves.

"Is it about the alpha of silver moon?, Did that man do anything to you? If so I am going to kill him" He growled.

"You really need to listen to me Zach"I gazed at his eyes while holding his hands. I don't know how to start. Today is a long day. I took a deep breath to calm my nerves.

"I used to be a member of silver moon pack, under Alpha Damon. I was taught to fight since I was a kid. My parents never really cared about me, or treated me as their daughter, never let me out to make friends or enjoy my life, I was bound by the boundaries set by them". I choked a sob while remembering childhood.

"Sshhh baby it's okay" He cooed in my ear. He is such a sweet man under his steely appearance. I knew he was bothered by it. Luke looked at me with warmth in his eyes, Theo was beside him listening to me. He encouraged me to go on.

"I used to do all the work at home, my mom never bothered about me and they only needed me to do the chores, anyway I didn't mind after few years of crying and cursing my fate, I became used to it with the help of my best friend Jade" I smiled weakly as I remembered her.
"Alpha Damon was a good alpha, I can't say he was the best but he did what he had to do, so we respected him, then one day out of the blue he announced that his son Jacob would marry me in three days beacuse he didn't find his mate after many years of searching, they thought I was fit to be his mate and become the Luna of silver moon pack! It threw me off guard, i was outraged, after sometime I had even considered marrying him just to please my parents then I became everybody's favourite overnight,I was too dumb to realise it. With the help of my wolf belle I made a run for it in the middle of the night" I sighed.

Zachary's fist were clenched tight his face red with anger. "This is ridiculous! How can someone have a arranged marriage being a werewolf! We all have a destined mate for Christ's sake! I cannot accept this I will kill them all" Zachary stood up and shouted enraged.

"Please calm down Alpha, you need to be clear head for this situation" Theo interfered.

I agreed with Theo. "Please Zach calm down, I know you're angry it's very difficult for me too, I need you to be with me please" I got up from my bed and ran my hands on his back, I guess he calmed down a tiny bit.
