After school I went home, took a shower, and got ready fro bed. It was early, but I haven't gotten a lot of sleep lately.
I kept having nightmares.
When I got on my bed and turned on my TV, my phone rang from an unknown number. I ignored it, but it rang again. I rolled my eyes and answered it.
"Hello?" I said.
"Emerald?" The voice said...A very familiar, but fuzzy voice.
"Y-yes?" I said. I can't believe it.
"I've been looking for you forever." He said.
It was my father. The man who left my mom and I when I was just 5 years old. I still remember his voice, but I felt like as time went on it became hazy to me.
"Really? But you left." I said, holding in my sob.
"I know, but I did it for a reason. Just let me explain." He said.
I nodded, even though he couldn't see me. "Ok."
"Great!" He exclaimed. "How about Saturday afternoon?" He said.
"That's good. I'm bringing my friend." I said. I was going to tell Theo half of my life that made me who I am.
"Ok, that's alright. I'll text you the place." He said.
"Ok."
"Bye.
"Bye."
The call ended and I stared at my phone for a good amount of time. I couldn't believe it. My father. My dad.
He called me!
Saturday was in 2 days. I need to call Theo.

"So what did you want to tell me?" Theo asked.
We were sitting on the cliff in the forest and I told him I wanted to tell hi m something.
"Well, you know that I live with my step-dad, Stephen." I said. He nodded.
"Well, when I was 5 my real dad left my mom and I and my mom was so devastated. All I really remember is her drinking and never being home. My grandma would usually take care of me because her daughter couldn't take care of me without breaking down. My mom and dad loved each other very much and when he left, my couldn't handle it. When I was 10, my mom met Stephen and then a year later when I was 11, she left too. Just out of no where. Stephen was heartbroken. I guess he loved my mom a lot. I don't know if my mom got over my dad and I think she just married Stephen so she'll forget about my dad. I don't know why she left. Then I was left with Stephen." I said, all in one breath.
Theo looked at me. "I'm sorry to hear that." He said. "But there must be a reason. Do you still think about them?" He asked.
"Of course I do. I've been really wanting to find them, but I don't know where to start." I said.
"I can help you if you want." Theo said.
I smiled. "But here's the thing. Today I got a call from an unknown number and guess who it was." I said, excited.
"Who?" Theo asked.
"My dad!" I exclaimed. "He wanted to meet up and tell me why he left." I said.
"That's great." Theo said, smiling at me.
"Yeah, and I will like it if you come with me." I said.
"What?" He asked, furrowing his brows.
"On Saturday afternoon, my dad and I are going to meet up and I want you to be there with me. I need support." I explained.
He nodded. "I'll pick up up." He said.
I smiled and hugged him. "Thanks Theo."
"It's no problem." He said.
