"How's your mother by the way?" My DAD asked me.

It feels so great to call him dad. I've always wanted to say 'dad'.

"Oh...I don't know." I said.

My dad tilted his head to the side and furrowed his brows. "What do you mean? Did you run away?" He asked.

"It's the other way around." I mumbled.

"She left you!" He excalimed, grabbing my hand and shaking head. "Are you serious? Are you lying to me?"

"No, I'm not lying. She just left without a word when I was 12. When I was 10 she married Stephen, my step-dad-"

My dad cut me off. "She found another man?" He asked, his face saddened.

I nodded. "But she never loved Stephen. She just wanted to get over you and she started drinking and she'll cry about you. It was awful." I admitted.

"Ok, continue." He said.

"Anyways, yeah when I was 12 she left then I moved with Stephen to another house. Stephen was so sad. I guess he loved her, but she left and..."

There was a silence. I have to say it. I have to say the truth about me even if Theo was here. I have to get away from Stephen and I'm scared of what he might do.

I bit my lip and the tears started coming out my eyes. "Emerald, what's wrong?" My dad asked.

Theo held my hand and I shook my head.

"My step-dad, Stephen, he blamed me for mom leaving and he would..." I shook my head once again and wiped the tear off my face.

"What will he do?" Theo asked, placing his hand on my shoulder.

"He abused me. He'll hit me and call me a whore, bitch, and just every mean word he could of think of and when I was 13 he started sexually abusing me. He would force me to do things I wouldn't want to do." I said, sobbing and now a couple of people were looking at me, but I didn't care.

My dad and Theo gasped and Theo pulled me into a hug. My dad shook his head and his face reddened.

"Where is this Stephen guy?" My dad said.

"Don't try anything, it's not worth it. I just want to get away from him and live a normal life without worrying if he might come into my room or not." I said. I got out from Theo's embrace and he put a strand of hair behind my hair.

"Everything is going to be ok." He whispered.

"Has he done anything else? Wait, so the broken wrist was from him?" Theo asked.

I nodded. "He hit it with a hammer because I grabbed an apple and he got me pregnant." I said, whispering the last part.

My dad and Theo's eyes widen. "It was him?" Theo asked.

"Yes." I said, shaking my head.

"Your a mom?" My dad asked, his mouth hanging open.

I shook my head. "No, I miscarried." I said, looking down.

"Sorry to hear that but-" My dad said, but I cut him off.

"I know. She was going to have a rough life anyways." I said.

He nodded. "I'm taking you to the police." He said.

I shook my head. "But, but when he finds out he's going to-"

Theo cut me off. "Your staying in my place." He stated. I slowly nodded my head because I knew better to not argue because he'll win anyways.

"Let's go before I explode. Those anger management classes only work for a while." I heard my dad said.

We slid out the booth and walked outside. "Come in my car. I'll have my assistant take your car to your place, umm..." My dad said, not knowing Theo's name.

"I'm Theo." Theo said, extending his hand for my dad to shake. My dad shook it. "Nice to meet you Theo. I'm Daniel." He said.

Theo nodded. "How is your assistant going to know here I live?" Theo asked, as we got into my dad's SUV.

It was a nice car by the way.

"Well, since I'm rich because I made my own company, I have a lot of sources." My dad laughed. "I'm kidding. Here's my number and text me your address and I'll text it to my assistant Kyle." My dad said, handing Theo a piece of paper.

"What about my keys?" Theo asked.

"I'll keep them in my glove compartment. Kyle can go and get them." My dad explained.

He sure does have everything planned.

We were soon parked in front of the police station and Theo handed his keys to my dad and my dad put them in his glove compartment.

I was so nervous. What if they don't believe me?

But you have the video.

Theo must've sensed I was nervous because I grabbed my hand and kissed it, making me blush.

"Everything is going to be ok." He said, giving me a reassuring smile.

"Thanks." I said.

We got out the car and walked inside the police station. We walked up to the front desk and my dad did the talking. I just hung my head low and Theo stood beside me, his hand on my lower back.

"I'll like to put someone in jail." My dad said.

I laughed quietly and Theo chuckled.

"Yeah, umm, you have to file a report." The lady said. "But you have to wait line. Probably like 3 hours." She said, chewing her gum.

My dad's hand turned into a fist and he slammed his hand on the counter. "Do you know who I am? I can see your not doing your job. You either let me talk to an officer or loose your job. I know your secrets and I won't care if I expose you...Katie." My dad said, lowly.

I smiled. Damn.

"O-oh ok. I'll ring Officer John right now." Katie, the front desk lady said.

John.

Just then, John, the same John who was in my house came into the foyer.

My eyes widen and when he saw me he glared.

I started shaking in fear and I ran out the station.
