Chapter Twelve

I got home and slowly walked in.

I was dripping wet but I didn't notice. Leah and Seth were already home.

"Lena, are you hungry? Seth made-" Leah started to say until she saw me.

Seth and her got off the couch and started to walk toward me.

"Len, what's wrong?" Seth asked.

"Damon-" was all I managed to say until a new tsunami of tears came over me.

I ran upstairs, slammed my door, and jumped on my bed.

I heard shouting downstairs but I couldn't tell what my brother and sister were yelling about.

"I'm going to kill him!" was all that I heard from Leah. Then I heard the door slam.

I ran to the window and saw Leah and Seth walking into the forest. And I finally saw it.

On Leah and Seth's right shoulder were the same tatoo as all of my friends in La Push had.

I ran out the door, went downstairs, and trailed behind them.

Even though Damon said he never wanted to see me again, I wouldn't let Leah and Seth kill him. I cared about him too much for that.

I followed them into the forest. I followed their footprints.

And soon, I saw that the normal footprints turned into something else.

Wolf prints.

I still followed. Then, I heard a wolf's howl.

It was filled with anger.

I started to run faster. I came to a clearing and hid behind some bushes, so I couldn't be seen.

Then, I saw them.

Two wolves, exactly like the ones I saw in my last dream.

A grey one and a sandy blonde and brown one.

Then, I saw a blue gray colored one, and after I see the caramel colored one.

The light grey one walked up and changed into Leah!

She looked unfazed that she just transformed from a wolf, and so was I, strangely.

"You bastard!" she yelled at the caramel colored wolf.

All of the wolves transformed into people I knew.

The sandy blonde and brown one changed to Seth, not really surprising.

And the blue grey one changed to Maggie!

But the one that suprised me the most was that the caramel one was...

Damon?!

Bella showed up from out of nowhere and stood by Damon.

"What did I do?!" Damon asked.

"You tell me, asshole!" Maggie yelled, coming towards Damon.

"Wait, what happened?" Bella asked, confused.

"He hurt her!" Seth, who was now behind Leah, yelled.

"Who?" Bella asked.

"Elena!!" all three of them yelled.

Bella's eyes widened, she turned around, and backed up so that she was next to Leah.

"Okay,... Damon, you better tell me what you did, before I kill you!" she said.

"What do you guys mean that I hurt her?" Damon asked.

"She came home after going to La Push, soaking wet and crying. When we asked her what was wrong, the only word she said before she ran upstairs, crying her eyes out, was 'Damon'." Leah said.

"Damon, if you don't tell me what you did to my sister, I will kill you!" Bella yelled.

"I told her that I didn't want to see her again!" Damon yelled back.

"Why would you do that?! You know how she feels about you!" Maggie yelled at him.

"I didn't want to hurt her! What if I lost control while was with her?!" Damon said.

"So, you hurt her worse than any physical injury ever could?!" Leah asked.

"Well, you're not one to talk. You and Seth are wolves and you guys are her siblings. Maggie, you're a wolf and you're her best friend! And Bella, you, her other sister! You're a vampire! You could kill her faster than anyone!" Damon said.

"Actually, I wouldn't. She doesn't smell like any other human. She smells like mint, strawberries, and the ocean. Not like a normal person, so I'm not worried that I'll hurt. I love her, she's my sister." Bella said.

I love Bella too, but why did she keep her secret from me?

"Damon, you better apologize to her, cause I'm going to tell her tomorrow." Maggie said.

I smiled. Maggie was going to tell me her secret, she's a great friend.

Damon looked down at the ground and didn't say anything.

"Come on, Seth. Let's go home. Let's see if we can stop Lena from crying." Leah said.

"Let's go get some groceries first." Seth said.

They transformed and left.

"Bella, I didn't mean to hurt her." Damon said.

"I know, but you did. I have to go home, and you need to try and find some kind of apology for Elena." Bella said before she ran out of here.

"Maggie, what should I do?" Damon asked.

"You should apologize to Elena, unless you really don't want to see her."

"But, I do want to see her again. She's my best friend."

"Then, figure it out. Bye, Damon."

Maggie turned and left as well.

Damon didn't transform, but walked as a human away from the clearing.

I ran home, following the tracks that were made earlier.

I got home, showered, and made dinner, which was burritos.

I ate and went to bed. I got dressed in a black tank top and soft blue green plaid pants. I left my hair down and layed in bed.

I was happy that Damon didn't hate me but I was sad and confused, too.

Why didn't anyone tell me their secret? They didn't trust me, maybe? But the question I had to ask myself was...

Why wasn't I freaking out that most of the people that I love were different? And I knew the answer...

Because I already knew what they were.
