Isabelle

Isabelle remembers the first time she had to explain to Simon why her and Jace were so close. She didn't think the conversation could of gotten any more awkward then it already was, but he just had to bring up the fact that Clary was dating Jace, and talk about how much that hurt him. Isabelle is standing there thinking, 'Unbelievable! He thinks that hurts him?!' She laughs in her head, keeping a straight face on the outside, not letting him know how much it kills her to hear him talk about Clary. About how much he loves her, but she's with Jace and doesn't even notice him. Talk about irony.

As the days went on and Clary and Jace still struggled with their feelings, and Isabelle couldn't help but envy Jace and Clary. At least they had the guts to announce their love for each other, despite the fact they are brother and sister. Even Alec was starting to like Mangus, and Isabelle couldn't even talk to Simon without coming off like she wanted to kill him or something. She didn't like being soft in front of people, and that included letting Simon know how she feels.
She can kill hundreds of demons, she's dated quite a few guys, but Isabelle doesn't understand why Simon is so different. Was it because he was more mundane than he was vampire? Or was it his nerdy, but attractive personality. She cursed under her breath and continued trailing the hellhound through the damp, and unusually quiet New York city. Isabelle couldn't see too well through the thick fog that was quickly spreading over the suburb. The only sound that was heard was the occasional squeak or russell of tires or metals on the ground were the demon was trudging through. Thanks to her Soundless and Strength runes on her arms she was strong and wasn't heard.

Unfortunately there was no rune to get certain people of your mind while in battle. At this moment Isabelle would have given anything to have that type of rune. It was dark out and Isabelle felt almost choked by the dense and thick fog. Her mind was so focused on the fog and not choking that she almost didn't see the figure she was about to run into. Almost. Stopping just in time to jerk to her right Isabelle narrowly missed theo person, but hit a stack of wooden boxes causing them to fall. Who in Heaven and Hell puts boxes in the middle of a sidewalk?! Isabelle grimaces, as the person stops and tries to look for the person who knocked over the boxes, but thanks to her Glamour rune they didn't see her.

Instead they did the last thing she would have thought they would have done, they spoke. "Isabelle? Is that you? Jace said you would be around here. He told me to tell you that they already killed the demonic doggie or whatever it's called." Isabelle was stunned into silence, both on the fact that he knew her, yet didn't know what the demon is called, until the meaning of the person's words sunk in.
"Simon?" Was the only thing she could think or say. "Yeah? Where are you Izzy?" Was Simon's reply. "Right here." He didn't hear her the first time so she repeated it trying to take off the stupid Glamour, "Here, right here, Simon." Shuffling and suddenly Simon appeared right in front of her, and Isabelle means right in front of her. Like if she moved she would bump into him. "There you are." He said, not moving from his position. Isabelle just might attack him in a not so modest way if he stood there any longer. But he was oblivious to how she felt and what he was doing to her right now, so she shoved him, not so nicely, out of the way and started back for the Institute. Foot steps sounded behind her. Half of her wished he would just go away, and the other half wished he would stay; because she really liked him, and stay he did.
