(maze runner)

Your POV:

Thomas has been the most amazing, most caring boyfriend in the world. When I came up from the box he was there for me. He showed me around and gave me tips on what to do or what not to do, which was mainly not to piss Gally off.

A few days ago, a girl came up from the box, and she said Thomas's name. I didn't know what to think. Thomas said he didn't know how she's been asleep since she came up.

Ever since, Thomas has been by her side before and after running the maze.

I barely get to see him anymore and it kind of hurts. I'm not overprotective or jealous or anything, I just miss Thomas.

"Zart?" I asked, sticking my hoe into the soil.

"What's up, y/n?" He asks, continuing his work.

"So I heard you're good at giving advice and stuff," I started, continuing tilling where I left off.

"You heard correctly," he chuckled. "Need help with anything?"

"Actually, yeah," I was searching for the right words to say. "Ever since Teresa came, I never get to see Thomas anymore. Even when it's not necessary, he visits her anyway to check up on her." I explained and looked at him.

Since Zart was so focused on his job, he nodded and kept tilling.

"Talk to him about it," was his final answer.

"That's it? I pour my number one concern to you and that's all I get?" I scoffed.

"I know it's pretty basic, but it really helps," he shrugged.

"I'm just afraid he'll take it the wrong way," I sighed and sat down.

"Just this once I'll let you sit around on the job, but only for a few minutes," he laughed. "Just talk to him and tell me how it goes."

"Thanks, Zartster," I smiled. I was so thankful to have someone, other than Thomas, who was willing to listen. Zart's like a love doctor or something.

I waited near the gate to meet Thomas. I was snapped out of my thoughts by Thomas running past me, so I zoomed to catch up to him.

"Hey, Tom!" I struggled to catch my breath as he stopped and turned around.

He gave me a small smile."Y/n, I missed you," that smile gave me a familiar sensation of butterflies in my stomach.

I was going to go in for a hug but was interrupted by Jeff running up to us.

"Thomas. It's the girl... she's awake," GREAT. What a way to interrupt a moment. Thomas looked at me before jogging behind Jeff to see Theresa. I decided to follow suit.

We made it into the wooden building to see the dark-haired girl, sitting up with her back facing the door.

Thomas made his way to her cot, but when I followed I was stopped by Newt.

"I'm sorry, y/n, you can't go past this point. Alby's orders," he explained with a sympathetic look. I nodded understandingly, but stayed by the door to wait for Thomas.

I could tell he wasn't planning on leaving anytime soon, so I stepped out. It was already getting dark so I decided to take a walk.

"Y/n!" I turned around to see Zart running up. "How'd my amazing advice go?"

I chuckled but sighed. "I haven't gotten to talk to him today," I told him. Zart was quiet for a moment before speaking up.

"How about I find Thomas and tell him you need to talk to him?" He offered. I actually think that might work.

"Really? Thank you so much," I gave Zart a quick hug and told him to tell Thomas to meet me at the deadheads.

A little while later the sound of footsteps caught my attention.

"Y/n? Is everything okay?" I noticed Thomas's concerned voice, but there was also a hint of impatience.

"Um, there's just something I'd like to get off my chest," I sighed, standing about 3 feet a way from him.

"Yes?" He took a step closer.

"I— I know that the thing with Teresa is important, but I just think we haven't been spending time together. At all. I mean I know we both have jobs, but in that free time you spend all your time with Teresa. I just think—"I stopped after noticing Thomas's annoyed expression.

"Y/n. Was this really what you wanted to talk about?" Thomas asked, emotionless, after seconds of silence.

This tone caught me by surprised, and I looked down. "Y-yes,"

"You know I'm a runner, and that itself is already an important job. Why can't you understand that now, with Teresa being a possible lead to getting out, I'm even more busy?" He sighed and crossed his arms.

"Thomas I'm sorry, but it's true. I'm not the type of person who need's attention 24/7, but I haven't had an actual conversation with you, my boyfriend, in days," I felt tears threatening to come out, but they didn't.

"If this was so important, why didn't you come get me instead of sending Zart?" He added.

"I would've! But Alby had a rule that only the keepers could enter the building and you hadn't left the building for hours," I huffed.

"You know what? I don't have time for this. I'm going to go try and help find a way out without the other problems you're giving me, y/n," with that, he turned and left, heading for homestead, leaving me alone.

Sorry! I don't actually know how these kinda fights go
