Your POV

Every day I worked in the kitchen, I could see Gally from where I stood. Through the small windows or when I worked outside, he was always there.

I didn't mind it. I didn't mind it at all. I actually liked Gally a lot, but he seemed pretty immune to feelings. When I came up in the box a few months ago Gally was the first to greet me. Greet is actually an overstatement.

He started yelling and pointing and I had no idea what was going on. He never seemed to like me very much, but I didn't mind. My baggy jeans and loose shirt didn't really scream attractive.

He would always insult me randomly when we crossed paths and he would purposely find me just to do so.

One particular day it got pretty hot. I assumed it was because summer was rolling around, and working in the kitchen with hot food was not my ideal condition. The night before I had taken a knife from the kitchen and basically chopped up my jean so I could use them as shorts.

I did the same with the sleeves of my shirt and neatly rolled up the fraying edges so they'd look nice. I did the same with the shorts.

In the morning I thought with my new outfit I'd try something different. I let my hair down from that typical bun I always had because I thought it was necessary as a cook. Then I realized as long as the gladers had food, they didn't care what was in it.

"Morning, Fry," I greeted, grabbing my apron from a hook by the door.

"Mornin— woah, y/n, something different about you?" Frypan rubbed his eyes jokingly. "Kidding. You look great," he smiled then returned to the eggs he was making. Just then, Gally walked up to us.

"Frypan, Dan noticed some nasty bugs or somethin' destroying the walls of the kitchen. The weaker they get the more dangerous. We're gonna need to—" Gally stopped talking. That's a first. I noticed he was looking at me and he gulped.

"And we're gonna need to... c'mon Gally is your attention span really that short?" Groan snapped his fingers.

"What? Oh, sorry," Gally shook his head. "For right know you can't use the kitchen till' further notice."

"What? How long will that take?" I stepped forward and asked.

"It'll— uh... take some time. You guys can help... if you want," Gally's words were all over the place. Frypan and I greed to help Gally and another builder replace the walls of the kitchen.

I was surprised at how easy this was for me. In a rhythmic tempo I grabbed a wood of plank and with three hits a nail was in.

"How the hell are you so good at this?" Frypan asked in amazement, not even done with one plank of wood.

"I guess I'm just good with my hands," I shrugged and continued. I heard Gally cough and shift uncomfortably. "Gally, you alright?" I asked.

"Huh? Oh. Yeah just—," Gally stopped talking AGAIN. But this time it was because he hit his fingers hard with the hammer.

"Good lord, Gally," I put a hand on Gally's back and led him to Homestead to get Clint or Jeff. Instead of finding either of the two, I saw Alby.

"Hey, Alby, where are Clint and Jeff?" I asked him. He was organizing the medicine when he turned around.

"They're out collecting some stuff to treat certain injuries just in case," he told me. "We've been pretty low on supplies so they'll be gone a while," he informed me, then stepped out. That means I had to treat Gally myself.

Without saying a word, I grabbed the bandages from the shelf and wrapped his middle and first finger together.

"Thanks, y/n," he grumbled. Then, he too walked out. What's with men these days?

Since then, the past few days have been way different. I don't know what it is with guys and hormones, but all I've been receiving is attention. And honestly, I don't really like it.

I've also noticed Gally coming around to the kitchen a lot too. He says it's because the builders and bricknicks get rather thirsty in this heat.

"Gally," I voice yelled angrily. Gally was at the kitchen grabbing a tub of water. Soon a tall, lean, guy walked up to the kitchen. I've seen him around before and I'm pretty sure he was the keeper of the bricknicks.

"Alby's got us doing heaps of work so this ain't the best time to be abandoning our job, Keeper of the Builders," the tall boy snapped.

"It isn't any of your business, Bowie," Gally huffed and picked up the heavy jug of water.

"You know, I bet you're hoping to get some action with y/n," Bowie snickered. I scoffed and so did Gally.

"Why don't you just shut your face. Or you know what? I'll do it for you," I could see Gally was looking for a fight. He held his fist up in a threatening way.

"Gally, please, stop!" I ran in between the two of them. I faced Gally with plead in my eyes. He looked into my eyes and quickly dropped his fist.

"Yeah, Gally, listen to your girlfriend then back to work," Bowie snickered before I watched him walk away.  When I turned back to look at Gally he was already walking away.

"Gally! Wait up," I jogged up next to him but he kept walking. "What's wrong?"

He stopped and turned around. "You! That's what's wrong," he waved his hands dramatically. "For weeks I would visit you or be near you just so I could see you. In my mind I thought you liked me, so I thought I could finally have you to myself. When you changed so suddenly, everyone wanted you," he sighed in a husher tone.

"Gally... I've liked you for so long. But I thought you didn't the same because you'd constantly bad mouth me every chance you got," I looked at my feet.

"I'm so sorry. I just didn't know how to react to the feelings you gave me. I never meant to hurt you," Gally stepped forward. I did the same, but when I did I found his lips on mine.

His lips were a bit chapped but I didn't mind. Mine were too. His hand went to the small of my back and he pulled away.

"I love you so much, y/n. I always will."

Awww haha ig the cute stuff is more towards the end
