Chapter 3: Tutoring

Mrs. Jung, our teacher walked in and asked us to pay attention for some announcements during the orientation and about when our classes will start.

All of us settled in on our seats as we listened to her.

"Good afternoon class. So you might be wondering when our formal classes will begin. Okay, formal classes will begin tomorrow whole day straight."

I heard both whining and excitement in the room as Mrs. Jung  announced our formal class schedule.

"Be ready, the student's orientation will start in 30 minutes. I recommend all of you to tidy up now so that when it's time, you shall go straight to the auditorium."

All of us nodded as the teacher walked out of the room.

Xinlong turned to me while I was fixing my bag.

"So what did you and Zeyu talk about?"

I faced him as I sighed.

"Well....he asked me if I can tutor him in Science since he told me that he isn't that good in it. Is that true?"

I gave him a questioning look.

"From what I know... Zeyu is a little weak in Science. I can agree on that but what confuses me is that, why he chose you to be his tutor. In the first place, Zeyu doesn't like tutors."

I agree with Xinlong since he knows Zeyu more than I do. But even if he didn't tell me, there's still something off with him. Especially that time where I heard what he mumbled to himself.

'how cute'

Those two words kept on repeating inside my head which made me more confused.

Why did he say that? Was there a meaning behind it?am I overthinking everything? Does he have feelings for me?

The last thought made me stop and wonder. 'What if he does?'

I was too caught up in my own thoughts that I didn't notice I was already spacing out, and Xinlong was waving his hand infront of me to snap me out of my thoughts.

"Helloo~Xiao? Are you okay?"

I just blinked my eyes a few times before taking a deep breathe. Xinlong eyed me as he waited for my response.

"Yeah, I'm fine. I was just...thinking of something."

The school bell rang and everyone in the room including me and Xinlong, stood up and went to the auditorium.

When we arrived I was shocked. The auditorium was huge and there were plenty of highschool and college students.

There I saw the rest of the boys. I saw Shuyang sitting on his seat, Mingrui walking around and I saw Zihao and Hanyu playing with their phones.

'Where's Zeyu?...'

I asked myself but shrugged the thought off anyways.But before I could find a seat, I saw him.

We both stared at each other with the same shocked expression.

He gave me a small smile as he waved at me.

I also waved at him and smiled. I find it odd because I can feel something in my stomach and my heart beats fast every time I see him.

'Am I developing feelings for him? This can't be. It's still the first day of school. Unless...was this love at first sight?'

I realized that I was spacing out again and when I looked at where Zeyu was standing a while ago he wasn't there anymore.

I looked for Xinlong and I found him on his seat listening to music with his eyes shut.
