Chapter 4: I like apples

a/n: Yeah the name of the chapter is a bit funny but Mingxiao and I share the same thing in common🍎.

So guys, just to remind you, there will be some chapters in this book that will have conversations which are in Chinese but don't worry I'll still put the meaning for you to understand.

I opened my eyes as the sound of my alarm pierced through my ears. As I sat up straight on my bed, I noticed that I was still in my uniform. Well it looks like I forgot to change my clothes last night since I fell asleep.

I rolled my eyes at my stupid action and proceeded to taking a bath. I didn't really take long in the shower. I wore my uniform and checked my bag if there is anything else I forgot for school. It turns out that everything was good to go.

I lastly checked myself in my mirror and fixed my skirt.

"Today is a new day Mingxiao. Good luck to you."

I said to myself as I gave a little smile trying to convince my mind that it was going to be a great day to day. Hopefully.

I went downstairs and grabbed my breakfast on the dinning table, which was a ham and egg sandwich and bid my mom and dad goodbye before they also go to work later.

I walked to school while eating my sandwich and with perfect timing, I was able to finish it as I arrived infront of the gates.

I took a deep breathe and entered the school. Just then someone called my name.

"Mingxiao! Over here~!"

I turned around to see who it was and surprisingly it was Mingrui.

"Hi Mingrui. What's up?"

He smiled and replied.

"The clouds and the sky."

It took me a few seconds before I finally realized that it was a joke. I playfully rolled my eyes at him which caused him to giggle more.

"Sorry about that I just can't help myself."

"It's okay. It's great that you managed to make me laugh early in the morning."

I smiled at him as I fixed my hair since it's quite windy outside, but it doesn't seem like it will rain anytime soon.

"You should smile more Mingxiao. You look prettier when you smile."

I gave an awkward laugh and suddenly stopped when I realized that he was serious.

Seriously. What he said wasn't a joke and because of that those thoughts came in again.

'First there's Zeyu, then Xinlong. Now I have this strange feeling that Mingrui is next.'

I just sighed and shrugged that thought off considering it as nonsense.

"We should go to our rooms now. We don't want to be late."

I said to Mingrui as I gestured him to the high school building.

He nodded in reply and we both walked our way in the halls.

While we were walking we came across Shuyang.

"Mingxiao-Jie! I haven't seen you yesterday since we finished lunch. How was yesterday?"

He asked me with a big smile and I didn't hesitate to reply to him with the same smile he gave to me.
