Jughead POV:

I wake up the next morning to chirping birds. I roll over and check my phone to see its 6:30am. I should probably get up. I hate that I have to go to school and leave Betty here all alone, but unfortunately I need an education. I look back at Betty and she's sleeping peacefully, as if nothing happened. Her blonde hair was spread out everywhere and her skin was no longer pale. I kissed her on the lips and walked into my room so I could get changed. After getting changed I walk to the kitchen and make myself some breakfast, I sit opposite my dad.

Fp: how is she? He asked.
Jughead: she's ok, she woke up a couple times during the night, but apart from that she's fine. I say.
Fp: I can't believe her own parents could do this too her. I nod my head.

How could someone be so cruel as to shoot their daughter, with their main intentions being to kill her.

I finish eating my breakfast and Betty still hadn't woken up, probably because of the medication she was on. I sent her a text just so she knew where I was.

Jughead to Betty

Sorry I didn't wake you, you looked gorgeous. I unfortunately have to go to school. If you need me, for anything. Please call me. I'm honestly looking for any excuse to go home and stay with you 😂

I pushed send and I pick up my bag and walk out the door.

The walk to school was long and quiet with out the sound of Betty's infectious laugh. I wanted her with me, preferably not shot. I will never be able to understand how brave she was. She truly is amazing.

I finally, unfortunately, arrived at school. I walk through the over sized doors and walked past the student lounge. Well at least that was my intention. As I was walking past someone grabbed my arm and pulled me into the student lounge and forced me into a seat.

Veronica: how is Betty? She asked with worry and hope filling her voice.
Jughead: she's doing better, it's just hard for her to walk. They all breathe out a breath they had been holding in since they found out she was in hospital.
Reggie: who did this to her? He says with anger.
Jughead: her mum. I say. Everyone apart from Toni, Fangs and Sweet Pea gasp.
Archie: her mother was always abusive.
Reggie: crazy
Kevin: and a psycho. But I never thought she would have the guts to shoot her own daughter. Everyone nods there head.

The bell goes and I have Sport. I plan on apologizing to Sweet Pea. I was really rude to him and I knew Betty would appreciate it if I wasn't at his throat all the time. I walk to class and see him there. He looked drained and like he didn't get a decent nights sleep. He was also really quiet this morning in the student lounge. They really are brother and sister.

I start walking up to him and when he sees me he's a little confused, I can't blame him.

Jughead: hey...um. I just wanted to apologize for the way I've been acting towards you. He was definitely surprised that I was apologizing.
Sweet Pea: uh.. it's ok. He says with a half smile and I walk off. I'm glad we're okay with each other now.

Sweet Pea POV:

After I left the hospital I went home and locked myself in my room. I can't handle seeing her this hurt. I should have been able to protect her. She is my sister, how could I let this happen? As soon as I walked into her room it was as if nothing happened to her. She was the same up beat and chirpy person.

Seeing her there, laying lifelessly reminded me of Caleb. Caleb was in the hospital bed and that's were he said his last words. I knew Betty would be ok but the shock of it all got to me. Betty is the only person that made me likeable. If something were ever to happen to her I couldn't cope, I would turn into the old person I was.
