Cody's POV

Immediately I went to the gang, if they knew any bottom-feeding lowlifes they would be a good resource to start with.

Honestly, I'd do a better job than the entire cop force who had been looking for months for this guy.

Pulling into the alley, I noted my friends already outside smoking as usual.

"Hey bro, what's up you sounded mad crazy on the phone man," a buddy piped, looking me up and down. I was probably a mess, clothes a bit dirty, hair and eyes all crazy and I was sweating, still wearing my suit. But I had no time to care about outward appearances, I had a more pressing matter at hand.

"You know that guy that took Alyssa and the other girls that time back? Do you know where he relocated?"

The guys talked a minute, one of my drug dealer bud's spoke, "Yeah his buddy bought some tree off me a week ago, uh...I think they live in that warehouse outta town."

Great. A starting point.

Cops had already been searching the streets, but mostly the ghettos, looking in the too-obvious places.

It was my turn to help, I gave my friends a nod and headed out in my truck, speeding heavily towards the town line.

The warehouse was obvious, the only structure for miles right inbetween our town and the next. I hopped out of my truck quickly searching frantically for any clues.

Ropes, garbage and a few mice were the only things discoverable amongst the mud. Nothing that could lead me to the kidnapper.

I suddenly felt the odd feeling I was being watched, and, turning around I did not seeing it coming.

It was Tim. He was standing behind me, eerily watching me but looked just as stressed as I was.

I wanted to pumble him once more remembering he had hurt Ellie, but common sense pulled my mind back to hear him speak.

"I know where to find him," his croaky voice echoed in the empty space.

"What?" I had to re-clarify what I had heard, "You damn well know what I said," he huffed.

"Is it your brother?" I questioned faintly. I only had to look at his face to give me my answer.

He motioned me over to his car, an awkward gesture. We hopped into his car, a soft Beatles classic humming on the radio.

To say it was awkward would be an understatement.

I hadn't gotten on with Tim since he started becoming a dick back in middle school. But this was a one time deal.
For Ellie's well being I would have to work with him to get her back.

Tim was speeding over the limit, eyeing around for cops, although they were all searching for Ellie as we were so he wasn't too worried.

He then broke the silence between us, "I did a lot of bad things Cody, I hate myself for them but I want you to know there's a reason for all of it. I'm sorry," Tim spoke carefully, a bit suddenly too, taking me aback.

"I...know what he did to you...and your parents, I'm sorry that happened to you."

Even with apologies, Tim really couldn't make up for all the things he had done. He still had changed.
He was just his brothers puppet.

He nodded, adding on, "Well lets go put this bastard where he belongs."

"What suddenly changed? Why now?" I questioned, examining Tim as his eyes scanned the road.
