Chapter 23

Eunha's P.O.V

I walked into the restaurant and smiled widely when I saw Jungkook.

"Can I order?" I asked and he turned around, almost choking on the smoothie that he was drinking. I giggled loudly. He ran over and embraced me tightly. I hugged him back happily.

"Since when are you back! How are you? You look great!"Jungkook said excitedly and I laughed.

"I actually just got here. And i'm doing good right now, and thank you."I said and he smiled.

"How are you?" I asked quietly and he nodded.

"You know me and Tae are together and I can say that i'm doing really well right now." He said and I smiled. I couldn't believe that they were still together. Lucky...

I breathed in...I needed to ask him.

"Where's Yerin?"I asked and a frown came upon his face.

"What's wrong?"I asked and he sighed.

"I don't know but..."He sighed again and I became concerned.

"Is there something I should know?"I asked as I knit my eyebrows together.

" Look, Eunha. I'm not going to tell you because it doesn't correspond to me. Just know that if you need anything, I'm here...' He said slowly.

What?

"What do you mean?"I asked.

"Nothing. Eunha. Have you eaten breakfast?"He asked and I nodded even though I didn't.

"I'm actually going to head to Umji's house to see if Yerin is there. I'll see you later!"I said and he waved me goodbye.

I walked along the same pathway in which we did that day and every other day. I smiled and looked at the small yellow flowers that grew in the small patches of grass along the sides.

I looked up and smiled at the grey summer clouds that were scattered around the sky.

I saw the red house come into view and nearly giggled at the sight. That house held so many happy memories, our memories. I approached the door and knocked on it twice. No one answered, so I knocked again.

The door opened and there stood a new mature looking Umji. She held her mouth and hugged me immediately.

"Eunha Unnie! When did you get back? Come in!"She said and I smiled.

"I got back today actually. Everything is still in place, Huh?"I said and she nodded, bringing me into the kitchen.

"Yup, just like before. What brings you back?"She asked and I was taken aback. Did she not notice my love for Yerin?

"Yerin,"I said and she slightly tensed.

"Eunha..." She said and I tensed.

"What's wrong?"I asked and she shook her head.

"Look, I'm sorry. This is going to sound really bad, and i'm sorry. It's just without you she didn't do anything and well, Sinb came over every day and encouraged her..."

"Umji, what do you mean?"I asked.

"She moved on." She said sadly and I laughed.

"This is a joke, huh? Good one, Umji."I laughed and Umji shook her head.

"Eunha, I'm being serious." She said and I clenched my fists in anger.

"Look, if you don't want me to be with your sister, that's fine. But you don't have to lie to me like this."I said and walked towards the door. She followed me and I stopped.

"Eunha, you're amazing, why would I lie to you?"She asked and I scoffed.

I opened the door and heard my heart shatter a few miles away.

It was Yerin and Sinb, kissing on the porch out front.

My tears streamed down my face and I breathed in until I finally got the courage to speak.

"Yerin."I cried.

She turned around and gasped. It was already raining, but I didn't care. I didn't care because my heart was broken. I ran and finally stopped as I saw a place on the sidewalk that protected me from the rain.

"Eunha!"She called. She approached me and I hid my face into my hands, sobbing my heart out.

"How could you!"I shouted at her.

"How could you..."I repeated in a lower voice.

I grabbed my suitcase and got up.

"You promised..."I said and turned around as I walked away.

She didn't come after me, she didn't cry, she didn't apologize, she didn't care...

She broke our promise and our love our love along with it...

I stood there, letting the summer rain drizzle all around me and the endless tears stream down my face.
