Jugheads POV:
I couldn't stop thinking about Betty, I knew I had to though because there was no way we could be together unless Penelope dropped dead. I had to try getting my mind off of her because I didn't want her getting hurt, so I was going to the mall today with Archie and Veronica for summer stuff, there wasn't really a need to get short shorts and tank tops for people because it never got too hot in Riverdale, I guess it's just the thing to do, when it's summer you go from wearing layers to barely wearing anything.I was dreading going to the mall, I usually stuck with an S t-shirt and jeans through the summer, I only lost my jacket and occasionally my beanie. I went into a magic mart to get some luau decorations for a end of year party Veronica was throwing and I was in charge of getting flower crowns and grass skirts. I was walking up to the cash register and Cheryl was there and maybe not alone because she had two pink pregnancy test boxes in her hand. She never noticed me for two reasons, one I'm not that noticeable and two she was in such a hurry to run off somewhere that she probably wouldn't realize if there was a dancing monkey standing behind her. I payed for Veronicas stuff and returned back to her. "What's up with Betty and Cheryl, they were hugging in the bathroom and saying something about checking again or something." Veronica asked me, wanting to know all of the gossip. "I-I don't know." I was concerned that Betty was pregnant because Cheryl didn't have a boyfriend or anything and Cheryl's not the type to sleep around so did I get Betty pregnant? I was sifting through my brain for possible reactions that they would've had but I don't think that they would be hugging and saying check again if she was pregnant so I thought I was safe. I decided to forget about it and continue to shop even though I hated the mall. "Oh jughead you would look great in this!" Veronica yelled while holding up a cowboy hat with some suspenders. "Yeehaw no I wouldn't" me and Archie laughed and Veronica being Veronica just rolled her eyes.
I got home with my shoes that I had bought and I sat them down, I heard someone in the house, it couldn't have been my dad or Jellybean because they took a daddy daughter trip to the beach. "Hello?" I walk closer and closer to the door and slowly open it. There stands my mother rummaging through her old dresser. "Mom?" She turned to me with a defeated expression on her face. "What are you doing here?" My eyes were filling with water. "Son, I had to get some things of mine to leave." She walked up to me and held my face. "Why didn't you tell me goodbye?" She sat down on the chair in the corner of the room. "I didn't want to hurt you more than I was already hurting you by leaving." I managed to hold the tears in for this long but I knew I couldn't for long, I slammed the door and was going to walk to pops.
A/N so the Jughead chapters will be a lot shorter for awhile because I have more to do with Betty right now, just a heads up.
