Serah almost felt personally attacked.
"So, for the last time. I can't hurt anyone here." Engel crossed his arms in front of his chest. "Easy thing. If I hurt you, she's gonna be mad. If she's gonna be mad, Ariel gets mad. And if Ariel is mad, I'm gonna die. And you're certainly not worth it."
There was a moment if silence before a question filled the room.
"Who is that?"
Sam stepped closer, wielding his own bloody angel blade.
"This is... We're not really sure. It's a demon possessing an angel," Adam explained.
"Rude," Engel replied. "I might be helpful to you."
"And how could that be?" Castile asked.
"I could have a lead on Gabriel."
Sam stepped in front of him, replacing Samandriel's blade with his own. "You're better not playing with us. Gabriel is dead. I saw it with my own eyes."
Engel laughed. "Playing with a Winchester? I'm not stupid. I have information." He glanced over at Castiel. "He also wouldn't be the first angel to come back from the Empty."
Serah didn't perceive Sam as rough, despite his size. She rather thought if him as an oversized puppy, but now... He was not in the mood of playing games, and Gabriel seemed important to him.
"What do you know?"

Serah crossed her legs. Everone had taken a seat, Engel was talking.
"I never met him personally, but Gabriel kept in contact with Ariel. Well, until a few years ago. Anyways, Ariel knew of Gabriel's hiding, the thing with Loki, his troubles with you."
"Did he tell anything about my dad?" Serah asked.
"Not really," Engel answered. "Only that it was a one night stand. Back then he was too young, apparently."
"How old was he?" Adam asked.
"Around 19."
"That's a lead," Sam said, noting down the information they had collected. "We're looking for a 36-years-old man. Did he tell him where they met?"
Engel shrugged. "Can't tell. If he did, it must've been almost two decades ago."
Adam rested his head on his hand. "This would be a heck of a lot easier if Gabriel wasn't dead." He looked over at Sam who was playing with his angel blade.
"Just so we get this out the way." Sam leaned in, looking directly into Engel's eyes. "One wrong move and you're dead."
Engel sighed annoyedly, brushing Sam's hand with the blade out of his view. "Do I have to repeat my speech about getting killed by Ariel?"
Serah shook her head, her fingertips tapping on the display of her Chromebook. "This is so stupid. I should have stayed at home."
Everybody watched her, Adam moved in his chair. "No, Serah, you shouldn't have. We will find your dad."
"It's not about my dad." Serah crossed her arms. "If you didn't just come up to our house, Ariel wouldn't have to share a vessel with this dumbass, and I wouldn't have any emotional stress!"
"Hey, shut your mouth!" Engel replied angrily.
Serah got up from her chair, leaving the concerned men behind.
"Serah? Serah, wait." Jack caught up to her, following her closely into her still empty room.
"It's just so not worth it." Serah shook her head. "I'll just die when I stay here. I'd rather stay with my friends..." She walked up and down the room, Jack watched her movement. "Well, you can still see your friends. You are not trapped in here."

"They'll ask questions. They don't know about, y'know, my father." Her eyes scanned the room. Blank walls, white bedsheets. She pulled on her hoodie, threw her head back, stared at the ceiling.

"Why bother?" she asked. "My 'mother' is dead, my father-figure is possessed by a douchebag and my father is God knows where."
"We can fix this," Jack said, approaching her slowly.
"It's not broken, Jack," Serah replied. "It's just extremely screwed up."
