A loud yell was heard across the entire bunker. "Cas!" Serah heard from one of the rooms opposite of hers. Sam, she thought, he must have gotten up. She had been so worried when they found him outside, unconscientious.
Serah left her room and stepped in front of Sam. He didn't seem to be hurt, just really, really confused. "Sam, are you-"
"Have you seen him?" he simply asked.
"I, uhm," she said, fairly confused about what he meant. "No," she assumed.
Sam looked frustrated, shoved her aside and banged on one of the doors. Adam opened, tired and annoyed. "God, Sam, you're awake..."
"You didn't mean Michael."
Adam was confused. "You mean yesterday? ... No. I didn't. I meant-"

"Gabriel."
Serah's heart skipped a beat. Gabriel, that was her dad! "You've seen him?" she asked as she stepped closer. "That- that- that means he's alive!" Her fingernails dug into the fabric of Sam's shirt. "And if he's alive, that means I can meet him!"
"Hey, hey, hey," Sam said, calming her excitement. "Just because he's alive, doesn't mean we know where he is."
"I have his phone number, but he won't pick up," Adam added. "He was really pissed after he was here."
"Why?" Sam asked.
"Because we took so long to find her... And because you weren't there."
Serah bit her lip. "He seems to like you," she suggested and rose her chin to watch Sam in the eye.
Sam remained silent, let his eyes rest on the floor. "I'm sure he does..." He cleared his throat and backed off. "Adam, can I have your phone?" Upon receiving the phone, he quickly called someone. Gabriel, Serah assumed. He put the phone on speaker.
Hello, probably busy in the bedroom, don't leave a message
"Hey Gabriel, Sam Winchester speaking, but you probably know. You better snap your feathery ass here or I'm going to hunt you down, and trust me, I am dedicated." He ended the call and gave Adam his phone back.
"Look, Serah, I hate to tell you..." Sam looked down before watcher her again. "Your father can be a huge dick. I thought after last year, he changed, but..."
"Maybe there are circumstances we just don't really understand yet!" Serah replied, hope resting in her voice. "He can't be that bad!"
Sam looked at her with pity. "Maybe you should get to know him before you judge."
Serah nodded. Hearing her dad's voice made her feel warm inside. She felt like she had missed a childhood with him. On the other hand, she was glad to have had Ariel to guard her. She always felt safe with him, and he treated her like his own daughter.
"I'll... go back to bed," she simply said, brushing a strand of hair out of her face. "Haven't slept that much, I guess." She watched the men shortly before going back to her room. She couldn't even go back to bed before she heard her name once again.
Her door swung open. "Fairchild! You-... Wow, you look awful." Amie eyed her.
"... Thanks..." Serah replied and grabbed her forearm. "You annoy me for a reason?" she added.
"I still have questions," Amie replied. She closed the door and leaned her back against it. "What's up with your friend?"

"Jack?" Serah asked. "We didn't really get to know each other. He's my cousin."
"He's cute."

Serah looked at her, tilted her head. "As I said, he is my cousin. I'm not supposed to think he's cute."
Amie rolled her eyes. "Not cute in that way. Just cute. Like baby animals." She crossed her arms. "He looked like he saw cat videos for the time ever."
Serah pulled on her sleeves and shoved her hands into the front pocket of the hoodie she slept in. "He didn't really get to see those..." She sighed and moved on the spot. "I think there are still some other things you might have questions about... Now that going back isn't really an option."
"Yeah," Amie agreed. " Still didn't get why you won't let me go home."
