Sam wrapped his arms around the archangel. "You were dead. I saw you die."
Gabriel nodded in Sam's chest. "I was," he said, muffled by the fabric of Sam's shirt. "I was dead. And it was scary. But now I'm not dead anymore, so no need to talk about it."
"Gabe did you... Did you knock me out?"
The shorter kept awfully quiet. "Look, it was an accident, you had a gun." He pushed his face further into Sam's chest. "I'm sorry..."
"Yeah, don't worry about it now." Sam sighed and pulled away. "We've got bigger things to worry about."
Gabriel pulled up an eyebrow. "Bigger things like what?"
Sam sighed. "Bigger things like an archangel on the loose. Inside of Dean."
Gabriel's jaw dropped. "I died, and you messed up? I don't believe it."
"No one said you need to sacrifice yourself!"
"I did it to save your ass!"
Sam was about to reply something, but he kept it for himself. "Just... It's good to have you back."
"Yeah, " Gabriel scoffed as he passed Sam. "That's what it sounded like."
The hunter grabbed his jacket. "I mean it, Gabe. I am glad to have you back." He let go of the leather, and the archangel approached his brother Castiel. They exchanged a few words and went inside.
Serah looked up to Sam. "I think you hurt his feelings."
"Not helpful," Sam replied and followed them inside.
"Is that Sam's room?" he heard the archangel say before a door was opened and then closed.
Sam went down to Cas. "Did you let him in my room?" he asked the angel.
"He was exhausted. I didn't want to look for a room first. Do you mind?"
Sam cleared his throat and opened the door. Gabriel was lying on Sam's bed, face mushed into the pillow.
Sam couldn't hide a small smile and went inside. Gabriel was sleeping tight, he didn't even wake up when Sam took off his jacket and shoes. He even put the blanket over him.
He didn't even know angels could sleep. Gabriel did look very peaceful, smiling faintly. Something was very soothing about watching him.
"Is he okay?" Serah got in and watched her father.
"Just tired," Sam replied.
Serah nodded and got closer. "Wait, isn't that your room?"
Sam shrugged. "It is, and he intentionally picked that."
"Guess he missed you," Serah chuckled.
"I think I owe him an apology later."
"Yes, " Serah agreed. "But first, you owe me a breakfast."
Sam chuckled as Serah pulled him outside the room. "Okay, okay."

Serah paged in one of the books she found when a bed-headed Gabriel entered her room. She looked up from her book and smiled.
"Good morning," she smiled and put the book away. "Did you sleep well?"
He only shrugged. "You saw Sam? He wasn't in his room, probably because I had been in his room."
Serah got up. "Yeah, he and Cass went out. They had a lead on the Michael thing."
Gabriel frowned and got closer to the girl. "Anyway, I get to spend some time with my lovely daughter." He cupped her face and smiled.
She smiled back. "I'm happy you are back."
"You are so beautiful," Gabe smiled. "You look just like-... Just like I imagined. Did Ariel take good care of you?"
Serah teared up and nodded. "He did. He did take good care of me." She closed her eyes. "But I wish you did..."
"Serah, I had important things to do."
"Yeah, Ariel told me."
Gabriel let go of her face. "I've been dead, and Sam is already mad at me, I don't want you to be mad too."
"Sam is-... Dad, neither of us are mad at you. Sam let you sleep in his bed, he tucked you in."
Gabe blushed softly. "He did?" he whispered under his breath.
Serah smiled.
Suddenly, the door swung open. Jack watched them. "Emergency. Sam and Cas are in trouble."
