you came here any day you had time to.
it was a tiny little coffee shop that not many people knew about. there was rarely ever more than four people in here at once.
due to you being here so much, you knew almost everyone. not personally, but you knew of them; you knew their names.
today, you were sat near the window in a booth meant for two.
you were currently reading to kill a mockingbird, a book you loved while you drank your iced coffee.
you had to admit, this was one of the best places you could get coffee from, so although it was slightly expensive, you didn't mind because the deliciousness of the coffee took your mind off it.
you heard the door close and you looked up, ready to greet whoever it was walking in because you basically knew everyone who came in.
but this time, you didn't.
it was a boy you've never seen before. he was tall, brown hair. you didn't get a chance to see his face due to him facing the other way to order.
you looked back down continuing to read before you heard a name being called out.
"jonah!"
you looked up again to see he boy who had recently come in, take his coffee and take a seat.
he was sitting across the coffee shop but facing your direction.
you couldn't help but look over at him as he sat and scrolled through his phone, sipping his own coffee.
you finally saw his face. his beautiful eyes, his jawline.
he was gorgeous.
you didn't realize you were staring until he looked up, meeting your eyes.
you immediately looked back down, your cheeks reddening due to embarrassment of being caught staring.
a few moments later you felt a presence beside you.
looking up, you saw the boy; jonah.
"hey," he smiled.
"oh, um- hi," you stuttered, blushing.
"mind if i sit?" he asked, giving you a small smile.
"uh- yes. i mean- no, no i don't mind, feel free,"
you facepalmed, feeling incredibly embarrassed due to your messing up of words.
jonah chuckled quietly, sitting down in front of you.
"sorry about that.. i'm not very good with talking to people," you said, realizing how dumb you sounded, "i should just stop talking."
"don't worry about it, i think it's cute," he gave a light laugh and a smile before continuing, "i'm jonah, by the way."
"y/n," you smiled.
"i saw you staring," jonah joked, laughing.
"what? me? i don't think i was," you giggled.
"maybe it was me staring then, because you sure are beautiful." he complimented.
you blushed, smiling at his words.
"thank you, you too," you told him, your eyes widening as you tried to correct yourself, "well handsome i guess i should say."
"you're adorable," jonah smirked, resting his chin on his hand.
"thank you,"
"i actually came over here in hopes of getting your number?"
you looked up at him, tucking a strand of hair behind your ear before nodding.
"okay."
