Elias Lorizio

"Ma, what the hell is Fruity O's? I asked for Fruit Loops." Kam held up the box of cereal my mom threw in the cart.

"Those the same damn things, Kam. They just cheaper. Curse at me again I'm going to slap the metal out your mouth."

"I'm just saying." She sucked her teeth.

"Mommy, can I have this?" Kaleb walked up to us with a big bag of Ruffles.

My baby was gone at work and I had a day off bored so I decided to come with my mom grocery shopping. I didn't know she was bringing the others.

"Mommy? You about to be a whole ass father in three months." I laughed.

"I know you not talking mama's boy." He retorted making me narrow my eyes at him.

"No I'm not. Ma, tell him to stop calling me that."

"Kaleb, leave my baby alone." She skimmed through the junk food aisle for the fat ass twins. All they do is eat junk.

"Baby? He the oldest with a baby on the way too with his crippled ass." He mumbled the last part, but I still heard it.

"I was hoping you would wait a little longer, but at least you have everything in line. I'm excited nonetheless."

"I want a girl." I'll be just as happy with a boy too, but I really want a girl.

"I don't want kids any time soon." Kam said as she sat inside the cart.

"Good, so that means you won't have sex." I patted her head knowing how much she hates that.

She pursed her lips, "I ain't say all of that."

"I know one thing. You better still be a virgin." Kaleb mushed her face.

"I am a virgin so shut up." She reached up to flick him in the head. "Worry about your baby, fam."

"My baby gonna be straight. I'm gonna finish school. I got a job and I started saving up for an apartment. As far as college goes, I'm gonna take online classes."

"I'm not thrilled about you having a baby at seventeen, but I'm proud that you're stepping up and becoming a man. Lose your temper and you'll be even better."

"I don't have a temper."

"If your last name Lorizio, you have a temper." Kam laughed. It was true.

"Not true because I don't have a temper." My mom said making all three of us look at her like she was crazy. "What?"

"Why you lying, ma?"

"I just think--" She was cut off by someone running their cart into hers.

"Damn, watch where you going." I mugged the ugly nigga that was standing there looking at my mom like he was stupid.

"Valencia?" He looked her up and down making me want to knock his eyes straight.

"Dave? I didn't even recognize you."

"You know this clown?" Kam pointed at him with her face scrunched up. Mom gave her a look and she sucked her teeth.

"Why you addressing our mama like you know her?" Kaleb gave him the same look I was giving him.

"I do know your mother. I see you had more kids." He looked between Kam and Kaleb.

I remember his ugly ass. He used to date my mama when I was little. Must've not lasted long because he was out of the picture quick.
