Then the door shut, separating our worlds once again. The feeling of her skin still tingled on my lips. My baby, my Courtney. Not that she knew that yet. I stood by the door for several minutes, hoping she'd run back and declare her love for me, then jump into my arms and kiss me. Just like my dreams. But no. She's with him and I'm here, surrounded by her ghosts. Pictures of days at the beach, memories of making forts with the dining table and chairs or endless games of House. I'd be daddy and her, the perfect mummy.

Her door was left ajar so I went inside. Her room was perfectly tidy aside from a few books and clothes sprawled out on the bed. I tucked the books back on the shelf and neatly folded the clothes into the drawer. Her tablet was left on her desk, I clicked the button and the screen lit up. It showed she had been watching The Little Mermaid, probably from when she was with Chloe. I clicked the button and locked the screen. Her notice board above her desk was littered with pictures, mostly of me and her, but a few of her and Chloe or her with Cameron thrown in. Our ones made me smile, each one brought back a memory; duck face selfies at the beach, photo booth pictures from bowling, even some polaroid prints of me and her as little kids. I remember sharing a bath with her when I was three.

I can't imagine what it'd be like sharing a bath with her now.

She changes when she's with him. He doesn't appreciate her. I could treat her so much better. I flopped onto her bed and closed my eyes, breathing in her scent.

I woke with a start an hour later. I checked the clock, twenty minutes until she's home. Twenty minutes of torture. I went into the bathroom and ran her a bath, extra bubbles, the way she likes it. I got her fluffy blue towel and put it on the rack, then left.

My eyes didn't leave the clock, I willed it to move faster. I changed into my pj's and switched the TV back on.

"Tonight was fun" I heard him say. I ran to the door and swung it open, interupting a kiss. Funny, karma's a bitch.

"I made you a bath" I beamed, pulling Courtney in for a hug. She smelt sweet. "Thought you'd need it"

"So you think I smell?" she teased, mocking a hurt voice.

"Yeah, you smell like him"

"Oh, my apologies. So I guess you're staying tonight?" Court asked, walking towards the bathroom.

"Yeah, you need someone here while Chloe's out.

"Aw, sweet"

"So about your party?" I asked.

"Sit outside" she instructed, disappearing into the bathroom.

"What about it?" she called.

"So my house, half seven 'til whenever. Okay for you?"

"Yeah, sounds great"

"Cool"

"Cool" she repeated.

"Tay..." she trailed off.

"Yeah?"

"Sing for me?" I leant my head against the door and smiled.

"You call me up, its like a broken record, sayin' that your heart hurts. That you'll never get over him getting over you..."

I heard the water splash slightly and then her tiny feet pattering across the floor. She emerged, skin pink from the water.

"Purple or blue?" I smiled shuffling through her drawer.

"Can't I just wear your shirt?"

"Sure" I smiled, taking it off and handing it to her. It was tight on me but it fit her like a dress.

"Tay, sleep with me tonight?"

"Okay, princess" I climbed in beside her and draped my arm over her waist. Her hand found mine and our fingers intwined, resting against her stomach.

"I love you, Courtney" I whispered.

"I love you too"

Love you all, stay amazing
