A knock at my door woke me up. Through the bond, I knew it was Lissa. I rolled out of bed, and opened the door. A smile was plastered across her face as she walked into my room. She went into my closet and pulled out my suitcase. She had gotten me one for when we graduate. We're a month away from graduating, and I just passed the trials. It went by in a blur, but I passed with flying colors. My nerves were really bad, though. I even threw up. The idea of not being able to protect Lissa worried me. But, now I don't have to worry about that. I'm her guardian officially.

"Come on. We need to pack!" she was a little too excited

"We don't leave for another month, Liss"

"Actually, we leave in another week, Rose. Queen Tatiana invited us--are you okay?" she turned toward me, worried

My throat was dry, and my stomach lurched. I ran into the bathroom and knelt down on the floor. Lissa was right behind me in a flash. She held my hair up and rubbed my back. Through the bond, I knew that the only emotion she had was worry. When I was done, she escorted me back to my room. I told her I was fine. I just needed food. We walked down to the cafeteria, where I inhaled three donuts. Lissa was beyond worried. After eating, Lissa took me to her room. I sat on the bed, and looked around her empty room. She ran over to her dresser and dug through her drawers. She produced a pink box with a picture of something on it. She handed it to me. A pregnancy test? Why does she even have this? I looked up at her and raised my eyebrows.

"Is there something you want to tell me, Liss? Why do you have this?" I asked her

She sighed, "I thought I might be pregnant a few weeks ago. But, I found out I wasn't before I had to use this. And, now you're going to use it"

"What? Why?" I started to give it back to her, but she pushed it toward me

"Just to rule it out, Rose. I'm worried about you. All of us are. You've changed. We all just wrote it off as heartbreak, but now you're sick and... just go take it" she pointed toward her bathroom.

Was she serious? Fine. I will, but it's only to rule it out. This was ridiculous. I walked into the bathroom and followed the instructions. The whole time I was thinking about how stupid this all is. Once I finsihed, I set it on the counter and walked out of the bathroom. Lissa set a timer on her phone as I leaned against the wall.

"This is stupid" I said out loud

"Rose, it's just to ru-"

"Rule it out. I know, Liss. But, seriously? I've only been with a dhampir. It's not possible"

She smiled, "I'm a vampire, you see ghosts, and, somehow, you and him got away with something illegal. You did realize it was illegal, right?"

I wore a sad smile, and let out a little laugh. "It didn't matter at the time"

Lissa rolled her eyes and sat down on the floor. We waited in silence, and Lissa was pissed at how calm I was. I was calm because I knew it wasn't possible. She obviously didn't get that. I sat down on her bed, and she followed me. She leaned her head against my shoulder. We both jumped when her phone went off. She looked worried as she told me to check the results. I rolled my eyes at her. I can't be pregnant. It's genetically impossible. I walked into the bathroom, and picked up the test. It's going to have a little blue minus sign. I looked down at it, and froze. Lissa came into the bathroom after I didn't answer for several seconds. I slid down the bathroom wall, staring at nothing. I never thought that a pink positive sign would ruin my future.

Lissa took the test out of my hands, and out her hand over her mouth. Of course, that was when Sparky and the rest of our friends barged into the room. I sprung up to my feet, putting my guardian mask on. Lissa turned around, still holding the test in her hands. Christian realized what it was, and his eyes went wide. He took a step toward Lissa. He looked at the sign and closed his eyes.
