break - /breɪk/
a pause in work or during an activity or event

If my parents only knew what I did last night... they would probably disown me and never speak to me again; well, my mom at least. After all, they didn't raise a raging brawling child. I surprised myself the most, especially when I punched Devon in the face; and I was giving lectures to Gerald on how to deal with his brother, you know, not hitting him and all that. Oh, and let's not forget that Taylor situation I so perfectly resolved; the adult way. I just can't stand stupid women and I learned it the hard way too, by myself. Don't touch me and you will not get touched; well... the bitch pushed me. Besides, she wasn't so innocent, judging by her past actions. She needed to be put in her place once and for all. I know I could've handled that differently, but it's really hard to do that when a person is so dumb they don't get it. So yeah, I got a few scratches made by her fake manicured nails and a busted lip, along with a beautiful bruise that was already turning blue. Gerald threw Devon out and took care of my cuts. A part of me was super ashamed that I even stooped to her level and pushed her back, the other, very much bigger part, was fucking rushing with adrenaline, glad that bitch finally got what she was asking for.

"You gonna stay at home tomorrow?" Gerald asked me, setting a tiny bowl of peanuts on the living room table.

"Yeah, I still got a few days to take off. Why?" I asked, taking a few peanuts, stuffing them in my mouth.

"Uhm, I was thinking of going to Oakland for a few days. Can you get this whole week off?" He said with a tiny grin.

"Probably, Andy owes me anyways, I've been overworking because of him. He took his girlfriend on a trip, they got engaged." I said.

"Okay, you wanna fly out tonight?" He was in a hurry and I totally understand him. After things get heavy, he wants to bail, take a few days. Honestly, I needed that as well. Plus I can't go to work looking like Edward Scissorhands.

"Actually, I'd love to. I can pack our stuff if you want." I offered.

"Yeah, I'll get us some tickets, pack lightly, okay?" He said, already dialing the airport.

"Okay." I said and took two medium sized bags, packing just the essentials. Now that he mentioned going away for a few days, I couldn't wait to get out of LA.

Gerald ordered pizza and we were all sitting in the living room, watching a random movie on tv and eating. It was very homey, similar energy to Gerald's apartment back in LA.

"You two look so drained of life, what the hell is Los Angeles doing to you?" James chuckled, biting into his second slice of pizza.

I sighed and grinned.
"All kinds of crap."

"Yeah, trust me." Gerald added. "You don't wanna know."

"Yeah, I've had some drama myself, I broke up with Jessica." He said.

"What? Why?" Gerald wanted to know. I was pretty curious myself.

"Anyone want anything to drink?" Suzanne asked.

"Thanks, I'm alright." I replied with a smile. The boys both shook their head, so she went to the kitchen to get some more juice for herself.
