The first few days of school were just about bearable for 17 year old Lynn. But today isn't going to be a good day.
"Alright class, today you will be getting your first project." Mr. T starts.
I kinda just start tuning him out... I'm busy scanning the sea of students that I'm buried in.
On my right is the weirdo Kimmy. She's 17 and still wears pigtails to school with ribbons. Then on my left we have an idiot. I don't even know his name. He's 19, (he got held back because he's ridiculously stupid) he has short spiked dirty-blonde hair. He sits there twisting a rubber band in his fingers. In front of me, the dork Henry. He's a quiet ginger that sits there popping an arm pimple. Um.... EW!!! Behind me is one of the normal girls in my class. Amy. She's a short brunette. She seems nice. And blah blah blah a bunch of other people I honestly don't care. I only know about half of their names.
5% of my class is the total burn outs. Ew.
20% of nerds.
35% idiots.
25% normal people+a few weirdos
10% of the wanna-be people
And then we have the category that I would fall into.
The 5% of miscellaneous. Including me there's about 6 of us.
A couple that sits in the back of the class making out makes 2 of us.
We have the emo (I don't know her name. Actually.... That might be a he.) It has a haircut that I'm honestly not even going to try to explain. He/she dyes their hair just about every 3 days. Today it's bright red. It always wears all dark or all neon. Always baggy though, so you can't tell what parts he or she really has.
Then we have the weirdo that's still in that 'I wanna be cool but my mom still doesn't let me pick out my own clothes' phase.
And then next to her a brown haired Asian kid. He wears a baggy black tank top with a red flannel over it. And ripped black skinny jeans.
Then. There's me.
I'm not really your average 17 year old. I'm 5"4 with long straight hair. It's naturally so dark that it appears black. But it's currently dyed blue and fades to lighter blue as it gets lower. My hair is just thrown up in a messy bun on my head. I'm wearing a black "arctic monkeys" t-shirt that has their album cover on it.
It just about covers my (illegal) tattoo on my lower back. When the shirt rides up (which it does often) my tattoo can be seen. I really don't care though. I have a fake ID that reads me as 19 so I didn't need my parental approval to get it. It's angel wings that stretch about 4 inches across my back. My other tattoo is just a small outline of a heart on my ankle which I've managed to hide from my parents by wearing high fuzzy socks and long pants. I'm sure even if I didn't make an effort to hide it they still wouldn't notice it. For school I don't cover it though.
I'm wearing black distressed shorts. Then we get to the piercings. Both my ears have a regular lobe piercing. Then both ears have a second hole and one above that. Then my left ear has my double cartilage piercing. And my (I forget the actual name for it so idk if I'm correct but) mid-cartilage. My right ear has my industrial piercing which hurt really bad. Then I have a nose stud and a belly button piercing.
So... That's me.
"It's due 2 weeks from today" I hear Mr. T say when I finally start paying attention.
Oh.... Well then I have a problem here. I don't even know what the project is!
"I will be assigning partners today and this is not an in-school project. So get to know your partner."
I'm not the most approachable person ever... Or the kindest.... so I don't think I'll be 'getting to know' my partner. I have 1 very very close best friend named Sarah. She's a little shorter than me and blonde. She doesn't have any tats but she has a couple piercings. And I have a bunch of other friends but I don't actually like them..... :)
Mr T. starts calling out names of people I don't know. I watch as each set of 2 names are called, 2 people exchange glances.
Kimmy is with a junkie.
I wonder how thats gonna work out. The idiot in front of me gets paired with a sweet girl named Amanda.
At least he has someone to do all the work for him. I'd be surprised if he even knew what subject this class is.
"Lynn and Calum" I hear.
I see one of my fellow miscellaneous members heads jolt around to me. The Asian one. Well now I know his name is Calum.
"Okay everyone don't forget to grab the instruction sheet on your way out, have a nice day!" Mr. T says. And with that, the bell rings.
I'm second to last out of my seat and I go up to grab a sheet when I drop my pencil. I bend down to get it and am greeted with a pair of black 'Van' shoes. I get my pencil and stand up and turn around to see Calum with a slight smirk behind me. I get a sheet and start out of the room. Calum catches up with me leaving the doorway.
"What are you all smirky for" I say.
"I like your wings" he replies grinning.
"Wha-" I start but then realize. When I bent down to get my pencil my shirt went up a little revealing my tattoo of the wings.
"Thanks." I snap. And turn walking away from him to my next class leaving him. I hear him stop waking.
Next thing I know is I hear Calum's voice: "Hey I didn't mean it in a bad way Ms. Grouchy pants" I guess he has to go this way to his next class too.
"I know." I reply.
"What's with the pissy 'thanks' then?" He asks.
Man this kid really needs to know when to shut up.
"Guess that's just my natural tone." I say turning into my science class giving Calum an obvious fake smile.
"See ya later Lynn!" I hear him shout as he turns around and starts off to his next class.
Which I realize isn't this way because he turns away. Going in the direction he came to me from when I was greeted by him calling me "Ms. Grouchy pants". I don't know why this Calum thinks he can just.... Start talking to me.
