Then all of the sudden she makes a sharp turn.

"ARE YOU TRYING TO KILL US?!" Katie says to Hazel as she climbs back down into the car.

"YEAH?" I agree breathing heavily as I slide down into the seat below me because I literally almost just slid off the car.

"Sorry there was a squirrel in the road" Hazel laughs.

"Oh gosh hazel..." Katie breathes out. "I think our lives might be a little bit more important than a squirrels"

"Eh" Hazel says sarcastically.

-

Hazel pulls up in front of my house at 11:45.

"Alright byeee" She says

"Byeeee see you at the boy's house soon probably" Katie smiles as I open the car door.

-

No one is in the living room or anything but I see the light on in my parents room. I go into the kitchen to grab a snack and head upstairs. I guess my mom heard me because she comes out of her room and into mine.

"Hey sweetie"

"Hi"

"How was the movie? Which one did you guys end up seeing?"

"We saw Divergent it was really good"

"So are the guys gonna come over for the barbecue next weekend? and maybe Katie and.... Haaazel? Her name is Hazel right?"

"Ya her name is Hazel, I forgot to ask them. I'll ask soon."

"Okay" She replies standing up, and kisses my forehead "Goodnight"

"Goodnight"

-

I wake up at 10:30, weekends. Are. Wonderful.

I immediately grab my phone to check instagram, twitter, my texts, the usual. A few texts from Sarah about Sean, but nothing else. I eventually force myself out of bed and into the shower to really wake myself up.

-

"LYNN WILL YOU HURRY UP YOU TAKE LIKE AN HOUR!" Alex shouts from outside the bathroom.

"I'LL BE OUT IN A MINUTE" I shout back, turning the water knob off. I find my towel and dry off my hair a little and throw my bathrobe on.

I don't know why but I keep finding myself checking my phone more than the usual. Possibly with a little hope for a text from Calum or one of the guys, but nothing. I don't know why I'm expecting that though, it's not like we're best friends, I haven't even known them a month. I push the thoughts aside and decide to go into my room.

I keep replaying that moment with Michael in my head from a few days ago. On the blanket when he lined up our hands. I'm sure he forgot about it and I know it meant nothing to him, but he just made me feel so... weird. Not in a bad way but like a

butterflies-in-my-stomach sort of way.

-

SUNDAY NIGHT

Still no texts from any of the guys. I don't know what I was hoping for anyway, it doesn't matter.

"So how are your new friends" My dad asks while taking a bite of his hamburger.

"Oh my gosh Lynn is making new friends? How rare." Alex says.

"Ha-ha" I roll my eyes at him and kick his leg hard under the table.

"OW" he loudly says. "She kicked me again!"

"Well than watch your mouth." I say.

"Lynn." My mom warns.

"They're good though. Mom told me to invite them to the barbecue next week" I finally reply to my Dad.

"That's wonderful! I was looking forward to meeting them." He smiles.

"Alright I have to excuse myself," my mom says "I've got work to finish"

"Me too" my dad frowns. "Lynn, Alex clean up the table?"

We both groan, as usual when they make us do this.

-

I check my phone on last time (still zero texts) then finally decide to put on my music and go to sleep.
