A Shade of Love

Luke just left for his date with Emma. And I am left alone with nothing to do. The usual. Yes, I do have friends, but they are always busy.

I decided to take a shower, not that I was doing anything today, but just for the sake of being clean.

I stepped out of the shower into my steamy bathroom. I quickly dried off and got dressed into some sweatpants and an old t-shirt.

Luckily, I called one of my best friends Skylar, and she came over about ten minutes later With a stack of horror movies.

Skylar put in 'The Conjuring' and half way through watching it, I almost shit myself. I was literally screaming, whilst Skylar was just laughing at me.

And then, my door opens. Making me jump and fall off the couch, making Skylar burst out into laughter and I turned my head to what opened the door.

Luke. He didn't look like he had a good date. based on the way his eye color was a dark gray other than his original dark blue color. And his eyebrows were scrunched together. He closed the door and went directly to his room.

"I'm going to go talk to him."

I told Skylar.

I knocked on his door, and he didn't answer. Leading to me just opening the door, finding Luke laying on his bed staring up at the ceiling. He looked at me and smiled slightly. I walked over to his bed and layed right by him, lying my head on his shoulder.

"You were right." He quietly said.

"Do you want to talk about it?" I ask.

"Well I knocked on her door, and I heard her with another guy. And then I just went to the cafe around the corner to think."

I sighed. "She doesn't deserve you Luke. Don't even think about her."

"I know." He lifted my hand up, " why is there a bruise on you hand?"

I chuckled, "When you opened the door it scared the crap out of me and I jumped an fell off of the couch. I think that's what it's from."

He laughed and let go of my hand. "Were you watching a scary movie?"

"Yeah. Speaking of movies I gotta get back to Skylar, she's been waiting." I get up from his bed and turn to him. "Wanna come?"

He nodded and followed me out to the couch where we saw Skylar staring at the screen intently. I hurried and got Skylar, Luke, and I blankets.

"I freaking hate scary movies, and you both know that. I don't want to watch another." I groaned.

"Come here." Luke said while opening his arms, signaling me to climb into them. "I'll protect you from whatever monsters come near you." He chuckles.

"You guys aren't even dating you shouldn't be this cute. It makes me sick." Skylar giggles.

My eyelids were feeling heavier and heavier as Luke played with my hair, and I soon fell asleep.

Lukes P.O.V.

I woke up on the couch with Cameron snuggling into my chest. I knew I had woken her up by the way her eyelids moved. That made me sound like a creep, but I've known her for ten years, and I notice things.

"Ugh" Cameron let out a quiet groan, I looked down at her and she was rubbing her eyes. She looked at me, and smiled.

"Morning" I smiled at her. And over the years i've known her, I know she is not a morning person.
