A change?

"Did anything happen to Yanjun?"

"Not that I know off, why?"

"Nothing nevermind, I got to go" I quickly grabbed my stuff and walked out. Should I go talk to Yanjun. I know that we aren't exactly best friend, or friends in general, maybe more so enemies but still. They don't say keep your friends close and your enemies closer for no reason. Besides, I still owe him for the one time he borrowed me his jacket, if something is wrong I should help him. Ugh I can't believe my own words right now.

I looked around if I was still able to see Yanjun but he was already off to somewhere. Well might as well go to the expected spot. I made my way over there but he didn't seem to be there either. I went to his dorm room but nobody seemed to be opening the door. Is he just ignoring me or is he actually not there. "What are you doing?" I turned around and saw Eric standing behind me. "Ehh.. this might sound weird but I was looking for Yanjun" he looked at me as if I was talking in another language before he opened the door for me. I looked inside and there was no Yanjun to be seen. "Why do you even need him?" he said as he saw my disappointed face. "Ehh.. long story I will explain to you later"

It started to get darker and I had asked Eric if he could text me when Yanjun would be back. But I still had not gotten any message. I was just impatiently sitting in my room wondering where that idiot might have gone to. I looked at the time and it was already 10 pm. Why is he still not at his dorm. Screw it I'm going to look for him, I am done waiting.

I walked around the campus for a bit but I couldn't find him anywhere. Lord the one time I am looking for him he is just gone. Where would someone like Yanjun go to. Where have I not looked yet. Around the actual school I guess but he can't go inside anyway. Then again he is Yanjun he will find a way.

I made my way towards the school and explored around for a bit. Finally I saw someone sitting next to the pool staring at the water. I came a bit closer and finally was able to see Yanjun. Why is he sitting there on his own.

I went inside the pool area and he didn't seem to notice me yet until I came to sit next to him. "You were deep in your thoughts weren't you" I said as he almost jumped from the surprise. "Don't surprise me like that" he complained as he rubbed his chest. "Why are you sitting here?"

"I can ask you the same thing" he said as he curled his legs.

I looked down to my shoes as I felt a bit embarrassed to admit my reason, "I.. was wondering if you are okay, you seem, I don't know, a bit upset lately and.. I wanted to check if you are okay.." I quietly said.

I felt his stare poking the side of my face as I knew that he probably couldn't believe his own ears. Honestly I don't blame him.

"The.. night you gave me your jacket when you knew it was cold outside.. I felt guilty after I heard that I literally took your only jacket and .. I felt like I needed to make it up to you and since you seemed a bit upset lately I thought I might try to cheer you up.."

His confused face suddenly turned into a smile as he started laughing at me "You really are something Melisa, I am fine don't worry, I just had a rough week that is all"

I lifted my head up and turned my face to him and our eyes met. His smile disappeared as he looked into my eyes and we didn't say anything for a moment. "I'm glad" I finally said as I smiled at him.

"You know, this is the first time I have seen you smile like that to me. It was kind of cute" as if he was shocked by his own words he quickly got up. "Let's go back inside it is pretty cold here".

"Ahh, I have been walking for hours trying to find you let me sit for a second"

"For hours? Was I that important to you?" he said as he smirked at me. "Shut up!" I said as I hit him on his chest. He could only laugh at my reaction which made me continue hitting his chest. "You're too mean!" I said as he suddenly grabbed both my arms and pushed my against the wall. "You just can't admit it can you" he said as he slowly came closer to me making the space between us just a few inches as I was cornered between him and the wall as he was still holding on to me.

He moved his face closer to mine as I could feel my heartbeat race. He stopped just before our lips were about to touch and then pulled back and let go of me. "I got you worried there didn't I!" he started to laugh again. "Why must you be like this!" I said as I gave him a push. Though my push was a little too hard causing him to fall over and land in the pool. As his head popped out of the water I couldn't help but laugh at him. "Stop laughing it isn't funny!" he said as he struggled up out of the water. I couldn't help but continue laughing at this funny sight. "Okay that's enough" he suddenly ran over to me and lifted me up and jumped into the water.

This idiot just pulled my with him into the water but he doesn't know that I can't swim!

I managed to put my head out of the water as I was trying to stay above the surface. Yanjun was just laughing as he didn't seem to notice that I was struggling to stay above the water. "What are you doing" he said before he rushed over to me. I felt his arm grab me by my waist as he pulled me closer to him and kept my head up. "Why didn't you tell me you can't swim!"

I held on tight to him as I was catching my breath. "I had no time to do so!" I finally managed to bring out. I suddenly felt his hand on the back of my head as I felt him pull my head to his shoulder as he let his head rest on mine. "Don't scare me like that" he quietly said before bringing me to the side of the pool so I could get out.

I suddenly felt so cold as I got out of the water, the water was decently warm but outside of it, it was just really cold. I started to shake and Yanjun ran over to me and started rubbing my arms. "I'm sorry.." he quietly said. "I-It's okay.. I am the one who pushed you in after all"

"Oh wait" he suddenly said as he ran over to his bag and pulled a big towel out of it. "Don't worry it is clean" he said as he put it around me. I was just looking at him not knowing what to say. Since when did he become so caring and.. sweet?

"You should go inside before you become sick"

He didn't wait for a response he just took my hand and pulled me with him. We got to the girls dorm as he finally let go of my hand. "Go shower as soon as you can okay? And try to stay warm, otherwise you will get sick" he said as he held on to my shoulders.

"O-Okay.. but can I ask you something?"

"Yeah, what you want to know?"

"Why are you suddenly like this to me.. I kind of thought that.. you hated me.."

He stayed quiet for a few second and just looked at me. He suddenly moved his head closer to me until I suddenly felt his lips on mine, the kiss only lasted 3 seconds and after he let go he just looked at me and smiled. "I don't hate you, please don't think that" he said before he softly stroke my cheek and then walked away.

I stood there frozen trying to realize what just happened. Did he just.. kiss me.. did I not imagine this.. I felt my heart beat so hard it felt like it was about to fall out of my chest. Why would he kiss me like that without permission! We aren't even dating or anything.. what does that kiss even mean?

Ugh why must guys make things so complicated. I complained to myself as I walked inside and took my stuff and went in the shower. I softly touched my lips as I thought back to the kiss. I felt my heartbeat race again as my cheeks started to heat up as well. This idiot.. why did he do that.
