I Trust Him Completely
The next morning I woke up with Paul.
His arms were securely wrapped around my waist as he snored lightly into his pillow, mouth slightly opened.
I smiled smally, my eyes gazing over his face. While I was still far from being okay, Paul's persistent reassurance yesterday did start to help me. Maybe after all this time, it wasn't my fault for what happened post meeting Carter.
I simply can't believe how lucky I was to find him. It was still frightening how close we were after only knowing each other for two weeks, but he wasn't rushing me or our relationship and I practically adored him for that.
As I was overly staring at Paul's profile, a loud buzzing filled the room. Reluctantly, I grabbed my phone, not ready for the aftermath of my family fight yesterday. And while I had missed calls and texts, my phone wasn't ringing.
Yet, the buzzing continued.
I peeked over Paul's frame to see his phone going off behind him. As I tried to reached, I realized I wasn't able to move that far, for sleeping Paul's restraints were keeping me pinned to him.
As I strained my arm to reach around him, Paul adjusted, flipping to his back and with me atop, laying with him chest to chest. Letting out a 'oopf', I grabbed the cell, caller ID showing it was Sam.
In the past, there were multiple occasions where Sam would command Jared and Paul, the trio instantly serious and leaving immediately. It was always important and time sensitive, maybe it was one of those times now.
I flipped open the phone, "Sam?"
"Luna?" He voiced utterly confused.
"Sorry," I answered in a hushed voice, "Paul's sleeping."
"Oh..." He hesitated, "Can you wake him up?"
I glanced down to Paul to see he was already awake, grinning lightly at me.
He took one arm off my waist and held out his hand for the phone.
I dropped it into his hand and blushed. He had been awake when he laid me on top of him.
He kept his other arm lazily on my back and I laid my head onto his chest, tired of keeping it up.
"Sam," He spoke into the phone, his voice rough but serious.
I was suddenly propelled up as Paul sat up with me in his lap.
"Okay, I'll drop Aurora off at home and head down." He hung up the phone and looked to me.
"It's okay," I sighed and crawled off of him, "I have to go home and face the music anyways."
"I'll call you as soon as I'm done."
"No it's fine," I shook my head, "I'm gonna head off to work in a little bit anyways."
"I'll take you," He simply shrugged and headed to his closet.
I gathered my things into my purse just as Paul tossed me a hoodie, "It's too cold out."
"Really?" I gave him a look, "I think I can survive a car ride home."
"Hey, any excuse for you to wear my clothes," Paul smirked, grabbing some shoes.
"And start more family drama," I spoke, but pulled the oversized hoodie over my head, feeling it pool at my thighs.
