Aurora, I'm so sorry
Cole had been gone for two weeks already.
My parents weren't exactly too thrilled that I had spent a portion of my money without telling them or the fact that I didn't key them in as to this is what I was planning- but I hadn't been planning it very long and the look on Cole's face made it worth it.
He was happy of course, to go back to Chicago, but there was such a dark cloud over him. For we both knew I didn't buy his round trip ticket so he could have a bittersweet reunion, but to give a heart ripping goodbye.
However, I wasn't expecting him to be gone for so long, more so I thought he would have rightfully given her a sorrow filled goodbye and wanted to leave the city of sadness behind.
But here's the thing-Dylan woke up.
Cole had only been in Chicago for a few days when Dylan's brain activity suddenly increased beyond her usual comatose levels.
She soon woke from her coma and my brother was beyond ecstatic. He called soon after, giving a descriptive recall of the moment Dylan opened her eyes.
I swear the part Colton loved most about Dylan was her eyes, it was as if her soul shown through and led a blind man to water.
Colton's happily chirps about Dylan soon died down after the phone was passed to me, almost a somber tone taking over the static filled distance.
"Aurora," He whispered, my name almost sounding foreign in his voice, "I'm so sorry."
Before I could even accept the apology, just as I was sucking in a breath of much needed air, Cole pushed on, wanting to interrupt me before I could speak.
"Having her back in my life-everything seems clearer now. I didn't realize how blind I was by my sadness and how angry that was making me. I know I've been a screw up of a big brother for months now and I never helped you when you needed me and i'm sorry. Sorry for being a fuck up and for leaving you alone."
"Cole, I'm sorry too," I mumbled into the phone as I gripped it tight. The relief and pleasantness washing over me was almost too intense. I've hadn't felt this light and free in a long, long time.
He let out a laugh, but still with a twinge of sadness, "Man, that psycho really did a number on us, huh?"
I smiled lightly into the phone, having a feeling that Cole and I would eventually be okay, maybe not now or in the near future, but I was one step closer to having my brother back. "You have no idea."

"Hey," I chirped to Bella as I met her on the beach.
"Hi Luna," She greeted, a somewhat off but pleasant glint in her eye.
I took notice of it immediately and decided to push the issue, "Everything okay?"
Bella let out a breath I didn't realize she had been holding as a small smile came on her face. "Not yet.. but I think someday it will be."
A grin lit on my face. "Does this have something to do with... i don't know.. a boy by the name of Jacob Black?"
While my attitude towards Jacob has been less than desired, I couldn't help but adore the fact that Bella was seemingly coming back to life, physically and emotionally. She didn't look so thin anymore and her natural rosy complexion filled her face once again.
Speaking of, I couldn't help but widen my smile as her cheeks blushed. "No," She stammered, "He's just a good friend- the best in fact."
"Good," I nodded, agreeing.
