the biggest prank in Inkwell history

a cans suprise

as they left the seaside, with a sleeping mermaid on mugman's back they were back on their way 

passing through sallys stageplays and dr kahls home they saw that they were both busy with their work 

and not changed 

but when they appeared at Werner Werman's house

they could instantly tell that something was up

the rat's robotic cat was barricading the door, not letting a soul get past, 

it's so life-like eyes staring at the upcoming figures with interest 

"I don't trust that thing cup's, and I'm worried for cala's safety," mugman said worriedly 

cuphead listened to his brother but didn't utter a word, trying to think of a way to lure the cat away 

"cuppy!" mugman whined 

but as he turned to the side looking at a large circular shape, he had gotten an idea

"help me with this ball mugs, I think this cat just scratching to play," cuphead said determinedly 

the cat watched as the boys left

it's ears drooping in disappointment, his owner had just suddenly ordered him to stand outside to keep anyone out, the cat believed he was stressed, especially when hearing how high pitched his voice became 

"here, kitty kitty" a voice beckoned, breaking the cat out of its secretive thoughts 

and its eyes saw something that made him lose all soldier-like respect 

chasing the large playball 

and letting the two cup brothers and sleeping mermaid inside 

"that...was way too easy," mugman said in disbelief 

"tell me about it" cuphead laughed as he walked further into the wooden home 

only for bombs and explosions to attack them left from right 

"hit the deck!" cuphead shouted as the two avoided the incoming attacks 

but mugman had a harder time as he had to juggle the bombs and the weight that was Cala maria 

"Geh weg" ("go away!") shouted a new yet familiar voice 

the voice coming from a can like a tank 

and at the bottom two little eyes looking through the eye holes 

"Werner stop please!"mugman begged as he slipped onto the floor, barely able to catch maria as she dropped onto his stomach, knocking the wind out of him 

only then did the explosions stop 

"vat happened to her?" asked the young voice of Werner 

it was obvious that he recognised the little mermaid, cuphead thought he could play this to his advantage

"yeah, a weird shadowy man turned her like this, and we're going to find a way to reverse it" cuphead continued, helping his winded brother up 

"and it's not just her, others have turned to, so we're just helping anyone who's in the same situation" cuphead continued 

(how is he this good?) mugman questioned in awe 

"so Werner, we better get going, unless, of course, you need some help," cuphead said as he began to leave, only he wasn't planning on doing so 

"vait!" Werner said in defeat

making cuphead smile smugly 

the top of the can popped open 

the brothers took this as an invitation to look inside 

and when they did they couldn't help but squeal in adorableness 

inside was a tiny rat with long ears, overalls and a metal hat that almost covered his entire head 

"stop the staring!" the tiny Werner said in embarrassment, needing to hold his hat so he could see the brothers clearly 

"hehe, sorry," mugman said, trying to stop laughing 

cuphead reached down into the can to pick up the tiny rat, who was too proud to admit that if they hadn't come, he probably be stuck in that can forever thank his new shortness 

"Danka" Werner grumbled

the cup brothers simply smiled and began to walk out of the woodshed 

"vait, how did you two get past my cat ?" Werner asked 

but when he saw his robotic cat chase a big metal ball, he didn't need an answer
