"So, we all know what we have to do?" asked Sherlock. We exchanged a look and nodded. "Benjamin, should be in the living room, guarding the main entrance, Sara you engage him whilst John and I sneak in through the back." She nodded, I gave her a small kiss. "Be Safe." I said. She nodded and ran off. Sherlock stared at me in disgust, before motioning for me to follow him. "Ok, I'm going to look for Moriarty. You go get Kara. He knows we're coming, so he'll have stowed her away somewhere. Check in the basement or the attic." Sherlock whispered, before disappearing into the kitchen.
I tip-toed down the corridor to the staircase, hurrying to the basement. The door opened silently, it was empty, the only sound being the wind from the open window. Suddenly, the door slammed shut. I turned around in horror to see Benjamin walking away. I tried the door. Locked. I thought. I rubbed the back of my neck, pacing, looking for a way out. Then, I realised. The window. I tried to drag myself onto the ledge, but it was no use. I was too short. I scoffed and looked around. I walked towards a cupboard, opening it. I grinned. A ladder. I set it up next to the wall and began to climb. Just as I reached the ledge, the ladder wobbled and I swerved to the right. Flailing, I grabbed onto the window. With a grunt, I hoisted myself onto the shelf. I squeezed myself out of the window. I landed on the grass with a thump. I stood up, rubbing my back, and looked around. There was a ladder leading to the roof. Nervously, I climbed up to the roof, scaling it until I reached the attic window. I peered inside. There was a man blocking my view of Kara. I cursed under my breath. I snapped my head up as a gunshot rang out suddenly. The man paused before running out of the room. I exhaled before opening the window and jumping through. "Kara?" I hissed. There was no answer, so I looked around. Then, I saw her. She was lying on the ground, almost unrecognisable. She was battered and bruised, her limbs stuck out at odd angles and she was covered in blood ad her hair was matted and stained with blood. I gagged at the sight. I rushed forward, frantically checking for a pulse. It was slow, very slow, but there. "Oh God." I muttered running a hand through my hair. Scooping her up in my arms, I hastily ran out of the house. I set her down on the ambulance, and it sped off. Taking a shaky breath in, I walked over to Sara who was standing outside with Benjamin ad buried her in a hug. "I'm fine." She said. I nodded, then gave Benjamin a long stare. "It's fine - he's good." she explained. He looked at me nervously. I nodded at him, and he smiled slightly. Just then, Sara gasped, I turned around to see Sherlock. His white shirt was stained red, like his face and hands. He was deathly pale and had a haunted look in his eyes. He staggered forward muttering. Stab wound, stitches, reopened. I rushed forwards to help him. "Kara-Is Kara Ok ?" He gasped out. "Yes, she's on her way to the hospital." I said concerned. "Good." he replied, before collapsing. I was pushed back as paramedics swarmed him. Sara, Benjamin and I watched in horror.
