Matteo was up to something. I was sure of it. I'd tried to tell Sherlock, but he dismissed it, marking it down to me being jealous. Again. I waited until everyone was out of the house to make my move. I snuck into the room, looking around. I searched for something, anything that would prove his true reason for being here. I looked under the bed to see a cardboard box, pulling it out I removed the lid. My eyes widened as I read the dozens of letters, all from the Diabolo Cartel to various clients. He was someone important in the cartel, that I could see, but who ? I gingerly replaced the box and stood up. I searched his dresser for anymore clues. Then, I saw it, poking out from amidst the various papers. A wax seal attached to the silver chain. My hands trembled ever so slightly as I held it up to the light. "Put it down." Came a voice. I jumped, turning to see Mateo standing in the doorway with a knife. "Little sister, why do you have to be so troublesome ?" He sucked on his teeth, advancing forwards as I shrank back. "M-Mateo." I tried to reason with him but he continued to move forward. I let out a small shriek as he grabbed hold of my wrist. I sprang forward, kicking and punching, but it was of no use. I hadn't fought someone in years and he pinned me down in a matter of seconds.

Irene
I rushed into Mateo's room to see him raising a knife over Sierra's body. I pointed my gun at him. "Hurt her and I shoot." He turned to me, grinning as he ran forwards. I shot thoughtlessly, sending him falling to the floor, blood streaming from his chest. I ran over to Sierra, helping her up. "Are you ok ? Did he-"
"I'm fine, just a bit shaken." She interjected. I smiled. I knelt beside Mateo's body, feeling for a pulse. Nothing. "Sierra I am so-"
"Irene you just saved my life, br-"
I looked down as I heard a loud bang. A searing pain blew through me as I touched my midriff, my hands coming away sticky with blood. I fell to the floor, watching as a man made his way over to Sierra. "Dad ?" She said in confusion. "You've always been such a disappointment, I'm just glad I finally have the chance to get rid of you." He cocked his gun and Sierra stood against the wall, her face heartbroken and petrified. I reached out a shaking hand, inching to the side to reach my gun. "Please, Papa, Don't do this." She pleaded, tears running down her face. I lifted the gun up, using my other hand to steady myself, ignoring the pain which was racking by body. I pulled the trigger, and Sierra's father fell to the ground. Sierra let out a sob of relief before looking over to me. "No, no, Irene." She scrambled over to me, dialling the ambulance whilst cradling my head in her lap. "You're going to be ok." She whispered, convincing herself or me, I wasn't sure. "I'm sorry." I said weakly. She smiled through her tears. "Shhhh. You can tell me when you wake up." I felt a wave of sleepiness come over me, and knowing that Sierra was safe, I let the darkness consume me. "Irene, Irene stay with me !" Was the last thing I heard.

Sierra
I sobbed as I waited for the ambulance, fingers shaking as I stroked Irene's hair. I was an orphan now, but that was the least of my problems. I trembled as I texted Sherlock, my bloodstained hands staining my phone red. She's going to be ok. Oh God, please let her be ok. I watched numbly as paramedics swarmed her, bundling her into the ambulance. I watched numbly as they dragged the bodies of my father and brother away. "Are you hurt ?" A voice broke me out of my thoughts and I turned, clearing my throat. "Sorry, what ?" She sighed, "Are you ok ?" The paramedic asked.
"Uh yeah fine. But is Irene going to be ok ?" I asked. "We're going to do everything we can." She said. I looked away. I watched the ambulance drive away, the sound jarring in the middle of the quiet night.
