Elizabeths POV

We arrive at school just in time for the dauntless to arrive, i go to my usual spot- a window over looking the train track in the main hall. I wait until I hear the train, then i admired the hundreds of dauntless jumping off of it all of them wearing black. Most of them end up rolling, but few land on their feet- looking pretty pleased with themselves. Oh how I wish for the thrill of jumping off a train, being able to be free.

I suddenly came out of my admiration when Jane started tapping me.

"Come on we're going to be late for Maths!" she smiled,

Oh great, the only lesson of the day and its maths. I turn away from the window and slowly walked to maths, Jane a step in front. She hates being late.

We walk through the door, and make our way to our usual seats- on the third row, near the back. As we sit down all the dauntless pile in through the door. The rooms so colourful with Amity's red and yellow, Erudites blue, Candor in White and Black, Dauntless in black and then us Abnegation in dull grey. We cant wear bright colours 'cause its against the rules- bringing attention to ourselves.

As the teacher walks in the room goes quiet, a few whispers here and there. Mr Mills, Erudite, around 37 years old, boring. I mostly zone out through the lesson, maths is just too boring- im defiantly not erudite. I was staring at the door, in the middle of a day dream when a dauntless boy barged in- must've been late.

"Sorry I'm late sir," he huffed, he seems out of breath. His voice was low, but not the bad kind of low.

"Yeah, yeah. Just take your seat" Mr Mills said waving his hand in the air, his voice a slow speed- boring.

I've never noticed the boy before, well to be fair i've hardly spoke to anyone but Jane, Oliver and Jonah. Partly because the other factions ignore us. I'd ignore us too.

We sit through another hour of maths, listening to sir blab on. But that boy keeps catching my eye, I want to know who he is. His Dark brown hair, swept to one side-showing his dark Hazel eyes that were glistening. They were bright and bold, while he was talking to people around him- laughing. I want that life.

Finally the bell went off. Lunch time. After lunch was the aptitude test, i was curious on what I'd get- I heard rumours of a thing about being divergent, meaning the serum doesn't work for you... surely that's not true- of course its not. We sit at our normal table, hardly talking for the whole of dinner- and when we did talk it had nothing to do about the Aptitude test, which i desperately wanted it to be- but that's against the rules and abnegation certainly don't break rules. How annoying.

Well, the bell goes and my stomach drops- it's time to find out which faction I belong too. We head to the waiting hall, this part of the school is only ever open once a year for aptitude tests. Me, Jane, Jonah and Oliver sit together on a table, there are 5 definite groups in this hall- Dauntless, Amity, Candor, Erudite and Abnegation. All the other factions are doing something- Amity are singing and just being happy in general i suppose, Dauntless are doing arm wrestles or something like that, Candor are having some sort of debate and Erudite are reading or arguing over some clever rubbish. Abnegation on the other hand are sat, doing nothing. At all... I hate it.

Soon the factions died down one by one, people leaving to do their tests. I was sat anxiously waiting, when my name was called- along with Jonah, Jane, Oliver and someone names Milo Pedrad. I looked around and saw him, the guy from maths getting up- so that's his name, i smiled. i headed to the room i was assigned, right next to Milo's. I walked inside, the room was literally covered in mirrors. In the middle on the room sat a woman, around my mums age- she had short dark brown hair and was slightly tanned. I immediately notice her tattoo of the dauntless symbol- so shes a dauntless?

I walk to the huge chair that reminded me of a dentists. She tells me to sit down and get comfy so she can explain whats going to happen.

"My names Christina, I'll be taking your test today,' the woman said, her voice was bubbly- like Candor
