Stupid.

*Your POV*

I left my farm to walk out of town and stretch my legs. I hadn't really socialized in awhile since my farm had been so busy. Taking care of cows, chickens, sheep and SO MANY CROPS. It was nice to finally get a break. I rolled around the bus stop and waved to Pam, then continued walking into town. I was already greeted by familiar faces by the time I was by Piere's. I saw Lewis looking at the bulletin board and Sebastian walking by, looking at the ground. I figured Sebastian was going to walk away faster so I caught up and greeted him.

"Hi, Sebastian." I greeted, giving a friendly smile. He turned to me and waved with a half smile, then hurried on his way. I wonder why he's hurrying so much. I dismissed it and turned upwards only to find Haley standing by the fountain, applying makeup through her small makeup mirror.

"Hi." I waved at her. She glanced at me in acknowledgement, finished up her makeup, and then turned around.

"Hey Y/N. What's up?" She asked casually, twirling her hair around her finger. It's so cute when she does that. Her blonde lock fell from her finger as she snapped her hands in my face.

"Uh, Y/N? I asked what was up." I shook my head and apologized.

"Oh, sorry, uh..." I hesitated. "I was just coming out to... ask if you wanted to hang out by my farm?" I don't know where that came from, I had only come out to socialize. Surprisingly, she was nice about it. Way nicer than I expected.

"Actually... sure. I've always wondered why you're constantly at that farm. Maybe I'll learn something." She smiled a bit and was about to turn around.

"I mean, yeah, you are kinda stupid." I snickered at her jokingly.

"Rude!" She actually looked kind of offended, so I quickly corrected myself.

"Hey, I was just joking. You're not that stupid." I shrugged at her, hoping she wasn't actually taking me seriously.

"Sure, whatever stupid. I'll be there at 8." She giggled and ran away before I could say anything else. I smiled to myself and walked into the Saloon since it had just opened. I leaned onto the bar and waved to Gus.

"Hi, Y/N. I'm glad to see you, you're always welcome here." He said with a friendly smile. "Let me guess: you want the daily special?" I nodded eagerly like a child and watched him bring out a Pink Cake. He set it down and charged me about 200 for it. Considering how easy it was to sell my crops, that was nothing. I thanked him and went on my way.

I made a few more stops. The library, Piere's, and Marnie's place to check on Shane, and then I started to walk home. I wasn't tired yet, which was good, because it was 7:25 and time passes by surprisingly fast, so I'm glad I won't be falling asleep on Haley and I's excuse of a play date.

Before I knew it, Haley came waving in a cute baby blue tube top and a matching skirt, bringing out her hair and her eyes. She's so beautiful. I had already come to terms that I had feelings for her, but I highly doubt that she'd return them. She seemed pretty set on Alex, the stupid jock that lives in town. I'm not jealous, just... jealous.

"Hi, Haley." I smiled at her. She smiled back and gave a little 'hey' and then sat on the porch swing I had. She went back and forth slowly. She smiled a bit at the stars above and then looked at me.

"You know, this is actually pretty nice. The view is beautiful and there's no sounds to be heard besides nature. I thought something like this would drive me mad because it's so quiet but it's strangely peaceful." She said. Poetic.

I gave her a goofy grin and said "Well said, stupid." She kneed me in the leg and I pretended to be hurt. I cried out and crumpled to the ground, breathing heavily. She actually bent over and checked to see if I was alright. "N-no... I'm... You're... stupid." I looked up at he and smiled. She put her arm back to smack me but I dodged it. I began to run away in fear of being smacked by her soft, pretty... Her hands. I shook the thoughts out of my mind and continued to run. I jumped up in a tree as fast as I could manage and peered out from the leaves. It was dark, so I didn't know if she could see me or not. I got into fetal position to try to hide my bright shirt. Damn, should have worn a dark colour I guess.

I heard a crunch and I jolted, causing leaves to fall down from the tree. This also startled me, and I lost my balance. I shrieked as I plummeted from the tree I was actually pretty high up in. By some bizarre chance, I landed directly on Haley.

"Oomf-" She groaned as I crashed into her, knocking us both down. She huffed and pushed me off of her, brushing the grass and dirt off of her outfit. "You got my outfit dirty, nice going, stupid." Despite her words, she grinned at me vengefully.

"Stop calling me stupid," I fake pouted at her. She brushed hair out of her face and giggled. "You know I don't actually think you're stupid. You're one of the smartest people I know. Way smarter than me. You make my life a lot funner." She smiled, blushing.

I got close and whispered in her ear. "Funner isn't a word, stupid." She looked at me and got flustered.

"You know I'm not smart like you." She huffed and crossed her arms. I knew it was a risk, but I did it anyway. I put my arms around her shoulders and said. "I'm just kidding, and thank you. I'm flattered." She relaxed a bit and let her arms fall at her sides. She slightly leaned into me.

"Thank you for this. You really do, though. You make my life better. I actually..." She hesitated, looking at the ground and kicking her flats into the dirt anxiously. "I actually think I like you."

"Wow, thanks. I thought we already established that we're friends, but okkaayyyy." I took the safe route in case she wasn't catching feelings for me. She scowled and said a little 'that's not what I meant.'

"I mean, like-like you." She finally got out, looking away flustered.

"Oh."

It was silence for awhile. I ruffled her hair and said. "I 'like-like' you too, stupid." She giggled a bit and then looked into my eyes. It seemed like the world around us slowed down, like it was only us. It was so slow I hardly noticed her leaning in. I hardly noticed myself leaning in. Before I knew it, I was met with the thing I never knew I needed. Her lips were so much softer than I expected, and she was an amazing kisser. We both pulled away and Haley looked away a bit.

"Wow." I sighed.

"Yeah."

Saying it was awkward was an understatement. I don't know why I was so bold today, but I hugged my arms around her. To my pleasant surprise, she shuffled onto my lap. She leaned against me.

"So, are we ____friend and girlfriend now?" She asked me hesitantly. Her eyes were desperate and begging, how could I say no to that?

"Sure, stupid. Whatever you want."
