I got to know Amy and Chris pretty well throughout August. Although I didn't share all too much about myself.
Chris really likes sports, and is the captain of the soccer and baseball teams at the school. He's outgoing, and competitive.
Amy is really kind and sweet, and will do anything to brighten people's days. And she has some weird addiction to butterscotch...
So there it was for that month. A little group of three, hanging out often. My life seemed almost, GOOD for a bit. But I knew that would change. Nothing ever goes my way.
One day, I couldn't spend time with Amy and Chris. Sakura was begging for me to meet her new friends, and well you can't just say no to your little sister when you know you're the only one she has. So, as mom left for work that day, I walked Sakura to her friends' houses.
First up was a young girl named Amethyst Reeves. We got to her house and I knocked on the door. But I wasn't greeted by a little girl.
". . . What do you want?" answered a kid my age dressed completely in black.
"Um, my little sister is looking for her friend?"
" *Sigh* AMETHYST GET OVER HERE!!"
A young girl, a little younger than Sakura, came to the door. Her face looked somehow simultaneously emotionless, AND polite. She had long, black hair, and green eyes. She was kinda short, and kinda skinny.
"Hello. I apologize for my older brother, Zerith. He hasn't been acting very kindly since he was 8 years old," she explained. "Anyway, nice to meet you, Nova. Sakura has told me much about you. She really looks up to you."
We then went to her other friend, Cam. We started going into the suburbs. Where we were seemed familiar...
We go to the house. I knocked.
"Hello th-... Nova?!"
"Oh, uh... Hey Chris. I guess I'm here looking for your little brother? Cam?"
"Oh yeah! C'mere Cam! Your friends are here!"
"Comin' big bro!"
Cam was much like his big brother, except shorter, and he had green eyes. I guessed he liked basketball, cuz there was basketball hoop in the front yard, and Chris didn't play basketball.
So, I spent that day looking after Sakura, Amethyst, and Cam. They had ice cream, they played basketball, and although I thought Cam would be best, it was actually Amethyst. They also went to the stuffed animal store. Even Cam got one, despite claiming he was too old for them. Of course, as the only one who could, I had to pay for them.
At the end of the day, I brought the other kids back to their houses, and then Sakura and I walked home.
"I love you big brother..." Sakura said to me.
I smiled. "I love you too."
While we walked home, Sakura started to fall asleep, so I picked her up and carried her.
