Chapter 12

Dora POV

I got done picking Serenity and my clothes that I put together out of her closet and I just stared at her while she was looking in the mirror. “What?” she asked smiling. “You look beautiful in anything you wear so stop worrying.” I replied and she smiled. “Thanks!” She said as she hugged me. “I like the Marilyn Monroe hairstyle on you also.” She laughed and nodded. “Nope I’m not wearing this.” I said. “Well I’m changing too.” When we were done we walked out of the condo; Serenity frowned as if she had forgotten something. “What?” I asked chuckling at her facial expression. “I’m about to go invite August.” And she smiled and walked to his condo.

Serenity POV

I knocked lightly on his door and he immediately opened the door. It was a surprise his security guard didn’t. “Hey ma, what’s up?” he asked smiling. “Well if you want to there is this party at the Parlor.” Then he frowned. “I don’t know if I’ll be able to make it.” I frowned and pouted then I stuck my bottom lip out like a child. Then he kissed my lips and bit my bottom lip then I kissed him and bit his. Then he looked me up and down and licked his lips. “You look amazing ma.” He said nodding. I blushed and he kissed my cheek and began to speak. “I’ll see if I can make it but I’m not sure.” I nodded and said “The theme is 1950’s.” “Damn ma I ain’t got any damn clothes for 1950’s.” I laughed and said “I don’t care what you wear I just want you to be there with me.” He nodded and said “I’ll see.” Then he leaned in to kiss me and I leaned back and put my finger up. “Not until I see you at the party, and don’t look at my butt when I walk off. I’m a good girl.” I smiled and then I walked off and I could tell he was looking at my butt. I my head and smiled and I saw he was shaking his head and smiling while rubbing his hands together.

30 minutes later.

We arrived at the party and I looked around. “Glad we didn’t wear that 50’s stuff.” And Dora nodded in agreement. When we got in I saw Jessica so I went over to her. “Hey Jessica!” I smiled and hugged her. “Hey Serenity, you look stunning.” Adaora was behind me and she waved. Then Jessica began to speak “Serenity I want you to meet my boyfriend.” I nodded and Dora and I followed her and then put my head down to get flairs out of my dress while she was introducing me to her boyfriend. “Babe this is my best friend since college, her name is Serenity and Serenity this is Steelo.” I looked up and my eyes grew wide. “It’s nice to meet you Steelo.” I said half smiling and half tearing up. “Nice to meet you too.” He said with his voice cracking enough to where only I know he is in shock. I looked at Jessica and said “Could you excuse me one moment and she smiled and nodded.

Adaora came running behind me “What’s going on Serenity.” I just kept walking until I got into the bathroom. “Serenity I’m not gonna ask you again.” I turned around and kind of just snapped “That was Steelo!” I tried fighting the tears but they wouldn’t cease. “Damn he is fine.” I looked at her with a blank stare. “Oh my bad, but Serenity come on let’s have a good time and I’ll just explain to her how that was your boyfriend in high school.” “No! Hell No!” I looked at Dora like she was stupid and she laughed. “I’m going to talk to her anyway because I don’t feel too good about her ass anyway.” She said and I shrugged.  When we walked out I heard them call my name to come on stage and sing.

I walked on stage. “Hi everyone how is everyone doing tonight?” I around and saw August with his security guards close to the back and I smiled. “This song is dedicated to a special someone. No I’m not calling names but you know who you are.”  Once I was done singing everyone was screaming for more and I smiled and shook my head. Then I heard everyone screaming and saying turn around. So I turn around and August was standing behind me smiling. I got super excited and I hugged him and he held my waist and we kissed and he bent me down and swirled me around with us still kissing and him holding my head.

Then we heard the crowd saying aww. “I thought you said you couldn’t come?” I asked smiling with him holding my waist. “You know I wasn’t gonna miss being with such a beautiful woman.” I smiled and kissed him. As we walked off the stage the crowd cheered and screamed. I went over to Jessica who was on the couch on top of Steelo and I rolled my eyes and tapped her. “Oh I’m sorry” she said smiling. “Yea um Jessica this is August and August this is my best friend from college Jessica.” August smiled and nodded. Then Steelo got up wide eyed. “Oh yea um August this is Steelo, Jessica’s boyfriend and Steelo this is August.” They shook hands and Jessica started kissing Steelo and he was kind of rejecting her. I shook my head and turned around and walked away and went to a corner by myself. Then August came over near me and asked what was wrong. “Nothing.” I said shaking my head.

“Well come on ma I know something is wrong but we can talk about it later. Can I have this dance?” he asked and I nodded. After we finished dancing we went and starred out of the window into the New York view from above.

Dora POV

I walked over to Jessica as she was by herself now. “Hi.” I said waving a little. She nodded and grinned a little. “Um I know this is going to be awkward.” She got up and nodded for me to continue. “But Steelo and Serenity dated in high school and kind of just got over a fling a few days ago.” She nodded and smiled “Don’t you think I know who Steelo is? Fuck Serenity the bitch thinks she can have anything she wants, but she was wrong.” I laughed a little and the next thing I know my fist was at her face punching her continually. Then Steelo ran over and pulled me off. “Let me the hell go Steelo! She knows you and Te went together she is doing this bullshit on purpose!” I yanked away and bumped Steelo hard as fuck. I walked over to Serenity and August and began to speak. “I’m leaving.” She nodded and spoke “I’ll ride with August.”

Then Jessica came over and started talking to Serenity. “Serenity she is lying don’t listen to her she just wants to ruin our friendship.”

Serenity POV

“Huh what’s going on?” Then Dora began to speak “Te she knows you and Steelo went together and she said you think you can get anything you want and you’re a bitch.” I turned around to face Jessica “Is this true?” She shook her head and began to speak “You know what, I am with Steelo to make you jealous and I did say it you bitch always thinking you can have everything and you think you are so fucking pretty.” I stared at her and laughed then I slapped her dead in her face and started punching her then August pulled me away and I screamed. “Pretty Hurts and Pretty Kills BITCH!” August put me over his shoulder and carried me out to the balcony. He pulled me out just in time nobody saw that anything was going on. “It’s ok calm down ma.” I was crying, pissed and more. “And stop of that cry girl.” Then he took his finger a whipped my tears. “Love you ma.” I looked up at him and stared into his eyes. “And I mean that Te.” Then he kissed me and grabbed my butt. He squeezes my butt and pulls me closer to him. “I love you too. Just don’t break my heart.” He nodded.
