"What in the actual fuck are they doing here?" Jisung whispered loudly to Donghyuck as he peered out from behind the curtains near the stage exit. He had gone to see how many people were in the audience and was meet with probably just over a thousand pairs of eyes staring at the empty wooden stage in front of them. His jaw had dropped, the nerves of the competition only now seeming to settle in as he watched them all whisper to their friends, partners or family about how excited they were for the show. Before he could chicken out and run out of the nearest exit, he took a deep breath and decided that it was best to just imagine that he didn't just see over a thousand people, the people that would be watching his every move on stage and be voting on who should win.

Just as he was about to leave, he could see the fiery red hair of his brother and the brown mess that he calls hair of his cousin, smirking and waving at him. Around them were the rest of their friends, practically bouncing in his seats. Taeyong pointed a thumb to the row above him and Jisung was almost certain his heart fell out of his chest. His parents were in the second row with a leaflet telling them what acts were to be performing that night. Jisung gulped nervously, he hadn't even told his parents that he would be participating in the competition, certainly not with Chenle. Oh god, what if they know that his relationship with Chenle was fake? What if they're disappointed in him for lying to them? Jisung hadn't even thought about what his parents would say about it all.

Donghyuck pretended to examine his nails and shrugged his shoulders mindlessly, acting as if he knew nothing. "Dunno, why don't you go say hi to them? Yanno, because they're your parents? You should've told them you were in the competition anyway."

"Hyuck! That's not what I'm on about, what if Taeyong and Taeil have already told them about everything with Lele?" Jisung started to panic. "Oh god, I don't need this on top of my nerves for the competition."

"You're not even worried about them being upset about the fact that you didn't invite them to the competition?" Donghyuck raised his eyebrow and looked through the gap of the curtains along with Jisung, waving at the younger boy's parents.

"No? Should I be?"

Donghyuck sighed, "I told Taeil to invite your parents because someone forgot to do it themselves."

"Why didn't you tell me?" Jisung turned around with a worried expression, slightly pushing Donghyuck by his shoulder. The older boy barely moved an inch and he snickered at the poor attempt to shove him.

"Because I knew you wouldn't go through with the competition otherwise!" Donghyuck shouted in defence, pouting as he rubbed the spot on his shoulder where the younger had pushed him. "Also, I heard your Lele was looking for you~" he teased and was delighted to see Jisung's cheeks darken with a light pink.

"Where is he? I've been looking for him for ages! I was afraid he wasn't going to show up," Jisung said and shook his head. "Hey... maybe if we say I never showed up, I won't have to go through with the competition and then I won't have to face my parents!"

Donghyuck rolled his eyes and crossed his arms over his chest, "wow, you're such a genius," he said sarcastically.

"Great, cover for me, will you? I'm off out of here," Jisung said in a rush and started to make a run for it, before Donghyuck grabbed him by the collar of his shirt. He let out a yell as he was dragged backwards, all the way to his dressing room backstage. Donghyuck slammed the door behind him and stood in front of it, making sure the younger couldn't make a dash for the exit once again.
