Chan pulled open the door to the café and stepped aside, gesturing for Jisung to step inside. The younger boy smiled and nodded his head to say thanks before entering. His eyes scanned the café and he suddenly felt nostalgic, he looked to the table in the corner of the room, with the maroon sofas, currently unoccupied as most of the students were still in class. Some of the cream paint was chipping away from where he had been scratching at the wall and picking it off (don't tell Taeil, he'd throw a fit). He could practically hear the loud laughter from his memories, silhouettes illuminating. A frown overcame his face and he quickly looked away, his lips kissing his teeth.
It was his and Chenle's usual place to sit. One time when they arrived at the café, they saw another group of friends sitting in their place and continued to see them there for even days after. They eventually decided to sit right next to their table and make as much noise as possible knowing that Taeil didn't have it in him to kick out his cousin and his boyfriend. They would shine their flashlights on their phone, screeched right next to their ears, blatantly slagged them off until eventually, the group of friends lost their temper with them and Taeil banned them from the café.
Just another win for them, in the end. Like always, working together as a team to get what they want, always succeeding in the end.
"Hey, Ji?" Jisung flinched and pursed his lips together. Chenle used to call him that and he called him Lele. His heart ached at the thought and he felt like slapping himself across the face.
Snap out of it, Jisung. You're supposed to be having fun with Chenle-Chan!
"Huh?" Jisung said and shook his head. "Oh, sorry, I tend to blank out sometimes."
Chan let out a light chuckle and walked over towards the counter, "it's fine, honestly. I'm actually quite used to it, my friends Seokmin and Soonyoung always do it by accident. Just, how are you feeling right now?"
Jisung shrugged his shoulders before looking back over at the table, he could faintly see the marks saying 'Property Of J + C' engraved onto the table. "I'm, eh. Feeling better but...it's hard to just get over it within a few days. Sorry, I shouldn't be putting the mood down with this now, I'll stop talking."
"Don't worry, I get what you mean."
The younger raised his eyebrows, "really?"
Chan nodded, "yep, I used to go out with my friend Seungcheol, we broke up nearly two months ago now? He almost immediately moved on, he's dating my other friend Jeonghan now."
"Oh, Chan," Jisung called out with an apologetic tone. "I'm so sorry, I didn't know you were dating anyone back then."
"It was a down-low kind of thing, not many people knew. But it's just proof that no matter how long you've been dating someone, you can always move on from them. Don't let the fact that you're not over Chenle yet affect your life so negatively, because you'll get to that finish line eventually. Your friends will be there for you every step of the way," Chan reassured him. "For now, I'm here to keep your mind off of him and to have fun with me," he smiled brightly.
