I'm Only Here When I Sleep

I'm a faceless fiend
A formless being
What you see is not true

My physical apparition is only imaginary
A meer figment from your dreams

While you sleep,
My soul is lurking,
Creeping between your heavy eyelids

Watching you
With a forever tired expression
So tired as though
A stoic silence possesses me

For you see
I'm not real
A spirit beyond your comprehension
One that only exists
While you sleep

But what if
I walked along
The land of sleep?

Sleep to me
Isn't the same
As sleep to you

It is reaching
Deep into my mind
Into every nook
Into every cranny
Any corner
It is all there

I wide open space
Ranging on and on
With no end
Yet it is indeed
All there
All around me
Within my vision
Without missing anything

Colors change there
Nothing can stay the same
Yet it stays familiar

Today a deep
Glowing red scenery
Endless hallways
That also have
An end

Soft echoes of
My static thoughts
With a gentle breeze

Close my eyes here
Disappear deep into
This realm

I feel like
I am floating
My mind has
Been expanded
My senses are
Both existent and nonexistent

The content warmth
Growing around me

I am free
No visual form

I am only
Truly here
When I am asleep
