Thomas
I slowly opened my eyes, realizing that the weight on my chest was my boyfriend's sleeping form, I looked down to see his messy blond hair sticking out at different angles and his pale arm draped lazily across my stomach. I smiled at the sight of Newt sleeping so peacefully and placed a gentle kiss to the top of his head. He stirred slightly before settling against my chest again, I sighed contently enjoying the peaceful atmosphere. Sadly I didn't get to enjoy it for long because Teresa came running downstairs loudly and stopped short when she entered the living room.
"Woah," she said with mild shock in her voice, "that's a lot a gay." I didn't know whether to roll my eyes or laugh so I did both.
"Shhh T," I whispered.
"Sorry," she replied in a loud whisper, "but mom's in the kitchen, she wants help with breakfast."
"Can't you do it?" She gasped dramatically and looked at me with an offended expression.
"My dear Tom," she said in a voice that sounded like she was trying to impersonate a monarch, "mother asked for you specificity. For it is your friends who stayed the night." I let out and exasperated sigh.
"Fine," I said before she turned sharply and walked out. I looked down at Newt, I really don't want to wake him up. I gently moved his arm off of my stomach before slowly lifting his head off of my chest and softly placing it down on the pillow. As I stood up I thought I had succeeded in not waking Newt, that is, until I saw him move around in his sleep before yawning and slowly opening his eyes.
"Tommy?" He asked sleepily. I sighed and looked down at him with a fond smile.
"Sorry, I tried not to wake you," I said sitting down in front of him. He smiled and laughed softly before taking my hand in his.
"That's alright love," he said softly, a tired smile gracing his features.
"My mom wants help in the kitchen," I told him, unable to wipe the smile off my face, "you can go back to sleep if you want." Newt shook his head.
"Nah, I wanna help," he said determinedly.
"Alright," I replied before standing up and holding my hand out to him. He took it and I helped him up before we walked into the kitchen.
Upon arriving in the kitchen we were greeted by the overwhelming smells of bacon, pancakes, and sausage being made.
"Smells good in here ma," I said walking in farther to let he know we are here, "how can we help?" She turned to look at the two of us, obviously curious of who was with me. When she saw Newt her confused expression transformed into wide smile.
"Oh boys!" She exclaimed happily, "Thank you! Thomas you're on pancake duty, Newt could you make the eggs dear?"
"Of course," Newt replied with a smile as he walked over to the stove. My mom handed him a skillet, spatula, and the eggs before she returned her attention to the meat. I smiled at the sight of my mom and boyfriend getting along so well, I'm a lucky guy.
When all the food was nearly done, Minho and Ben walked into the room looking like sleep zombies. Newt and I took one look at Minho's hair and burst out laughing. Minho had some serious bed head.
"What the shuck are you shuckfaces laughing at?" Minho mumbled tiredly.
"Nothing," Newt said covering his mouth to stop laughing, "nothing at all Min." Then Ben looked at Minho and seemed to really notice Minho's hair for the first time. He couldn't hide his amused smile as he whispered into his boyfriend's ear. Minho's eyes widened and he bolted out of the room and up the stairs.
"THOMAS!" We heard Minho yell from upstairs, "WHERE IS YOUR HAIR GEL?!" Newt, Ben, and Teresa were practically rolling on the floor laughing as my mom just chuckled from where she was finishing up the hash browns and toast.
"IN THE CABINET!" I yelled back.
"WHICH ONE?!" Minho screamed frantically. I was laughing too hard to answer, so I ran upstairs to show him where it was. When I walked back downstairs I found that everyone was already eating, so I made myself a plate and sat down next to Newt. Minho came down some 10 minutes later with perfectly styled hair and a more relaxed air to him.
"Better now drama queen?" Ben asked with a fond expression on his face. Minho nodded.
"Much better," he replied while making himself a plate before sitting next to Ben.
"So," Teresa said as we ate, "are you all going as a group or do you guys have separate little dates planned?" A look of horror crossed my face as I realized Newt and I had nothing planned.
"Shi-" I was cut off by a stern look from my mother, "Shuck," she nodded at the replacement curse word as I turned to Newt, "I never even properly asked you." Newt gave a small laugh while everyone else at the table either groaned or face palmed or, in Minho's case, did both.
"You've got to be kidding me Thomas!" Ben exclaimed, "Out everything you could have forgot!"
"Hey!" I defended hoping to find something to defend myself with on the way, "I..."
"In his defense we've only properly been together for two days," Newt saved me after he realized I had nothing.
"Not an excuse," Ben said firmly, crossing his arms over his chest.
"Wait," Teresa said suddenly, "Tom didn't you say you'd go to the dance with Brenda?" The table was silent as everyone watched my horrified facial expression. I then proceeded to bang my head on the table in frustration and shame.
"I." Bang. "Am." Bang. "So." Bang. "Stupid." Before I could slam my head on the table again, Newt stopped me by placing a hand on my forehead.
"Calm down Tommy," he said in a soothing voice, "I'm sure we can figure something out." The rest of the group nodded in agreement.
"Why don't you all go together?" Mom suggested. "Then both Brenda and Teresa have friends to go with, you boys get your dates, great pictures, and a great time!"
"That's a great idea!" Teresa agreed excitedly. Newt nodded his approval and we all turned to face Ben and Minho.
"I'm fine with it," Ben said as Minho nodded.
"Works for me," he told us.
"Great," Teresa said happily, "I'll go text Brenda!" She then skipped up the stairs to her room.
"Alright then," I said as we all helped my mom clear the table, "what should we do the rest of the day?"
"Well actually..." Newt started, "I wasn't planning on going so I need to go shopping to find something to wear..."
"That's perfect!" Minho suddenly exclaimed. "I'll take Newt shopping and we can get ready at my house and then meet you guys back here for pictures!"
"Why can't we all get ready here?" Ben asked.
"Because dear," Minho said in a tone that sounded strangely mother like, "I want to increase the wow factor of how good I'm going to look." Ben closed his eyes and exhaled out his nose as a smile tugged at the corner of his lips. "And," Minho continued, "I want to give Newt a makeover and see Thomas's expression." Newt rolled his eyes, but the smile on his face showed that he clearly loved the idea.
"Alright," I said to Minho before turning to Newt, "you know not to let him loose in the mall right? Keep an eye on him or he might buy everything he sees." Ben and Newt laughed.
"Yes I know," Newt replied before giving me a quick peck on the lips, "I'll see you later love."
"See ya," I said as he and Minho walked out the door.
