"I remember you saying that you do believe in hypnotism. Isn't that correct?"
I nodded, my fingers tapping the armrest. I stared at Gabrielle. She gave me a thumbs up and shot me a look of reassurance.
"then this should be easy"
He smiled at me then winked at her. "would you mind staying after this? Let's have dinner together. Nana's coming too. She missed you"
She chuckled "I'll give it a try. Not promising anything though"
"you should"
"we'll talk about this later. The kid's waiting"
He beamed and nodded. I narrowed my eyes. is he flirting with her? nah, I must be too malicious. Ji Han's Ji Soo's brother. There's no way he would flirt with his girl.
He's respectable. He has enough decency to lay off.
I think.
"Okay, Hansol, I want you to relax and focus on my voice. I am going to count from five to one. When I reach five, all the portals, doors, and locks in your subconscious would open and lead us to the answer that you've been searching for"
I shut my eyes. I took a deep breath as I listened to the sound of Ji Han's breathing. "five. Focus on my voice as it carries you back in time because the more that you hear my voice, the more you feel the urge to relax"
I emptied my mind of all the worries that burdened me on our way here. I listened to his soothing voice as it released the stress off my body.
"four. You begin to sink deeper and deeper and deeper. The more that you relax, the more you let the trance envelope you as it sinks you deeper and deeper and deeper into it"
I can see myself sinking. First an inch, then two inches, then three. I heard him sigh contentedly.
"three. Now, as I continue to count your body begins to feel heavier. You are beginning to transport back in time, to the day that you witnessed the horrible murder of your friends."
My chest rose and fell on a rapid pace as a blur of images shot through me. I steeled myself, already having an idea of what's to come.
"two, use my power Hansol. Use it to reveal the clues and unravel the mystery off that cold dreary night. I am always with you"
I clenched my fists. I fell on the ground, the earth swallowing me as I screamed on top of my lungs.
"one"
I opened my eyes and I stared at the bodies of my friends, a pool of blood drenching their lifeless bodies as it laid on the floor. the metallic scent of blood wafted into my nostrils.
"Go on Hansol, make me see what you're seeing"
I fought back the urge to vomit. I tightened my hold on the railing as my eyes flooded with tears.
"what do you see?"
"Seungcheol Hyung ... everyone ..."
The door creaked open. My eyes widened at Ji Soo as he crept towards me, an eerie smile plastered on his face. His eyes were tinged with madness. He sheathed his knife.
My breath hitched. My hands refused to move. I can't take a step back. I felt rooted on the spot, almost paralyzed. I watched him raise his knife, the blood from its recent victims trickling down the sharp metal blade.
"Hansol!"
It all happened too fast. I saw Seungcheol lunge on Ji Soo and slam him something on the face.
I lost my grip and fell off the building.
The excruciating pain of my body hitting the ground followed by thorns piercing through my flesh was enough to make me shriek.
I heard Seungcheol's groans and whimpers followed by a series of slams.
Is he ... is he bludgeoning him?!
Hansol, focus.
"Make it stop!" I yelled. I wanted to cover my ears to block that horrible sound. I shut my eyes, trying my best to move despite the pain that shot through my arm and whole upper torso.
Move! Damn it! even in this brain form my body's still freaking useless. I screamed as tears ran down my cheeks, Seungcheol's whimpers hunting me for the rest of my life.
Make it stop.
