Ji Han grabbed my cast and slammed it on the wall.

Pain rushed through me, urging a spine-tingling scream to slip through my lips. I gritted my teeth and kneed him on the stomach. He doubled over.

I took the chance to run away when he grabbed me by the back of my shirt and threw me to the ground. I gnashed my teeth and kicked his shin. He howled and stabbed my leg.

I seriously didn't know how I even managed to kick him even after the wound on my leg, but I did. I heard his knife fall on the ground with a clatter.

I lunged for the knife. He saw me and grabbed me by the hair. I held his wrist, making sure to dig my nails into his flesh, earning myself another hiss.

He slammed my face on the floor. I gasped, hearing a slightly audible crunch. Blood gushed down my philtrum. I felt my eyebrow tick as my mouth tasted blood.

He turned me over and sat on my abdomen. My breath hitched at the weight. He grinned.

I could see madness glinting in his eyes. "you really think that you're capable of tearing us apart huh?"

"tearing you apart has to mean that you're together in the first place" I grinned at him, showing him my blood smeared teeth. "you're just a stalker"

A vein popped out his neck. he dropped the knife.

"I changed my mind. I'm not going to make this quick and painless. I'm going to make you suffer every single moment"

I met his glare and spat on his face. He growled and grabbed my neck, making me choke when a sharp pain struck my stomach. I ignored the pain, trying to kick him off me when the sickening sound of wood hitting bone made him stiffen.

He crumbled to the ground.

I stared at Gabrielle, her face strikingly pallid. She trembled. The bat hit the floor with a resounding clang.

I pushed Ji Han off me and stood up. her eyes widened. "Hansol-ah"

She stared at my stomach. I followed her gaze. My hand rested on my abdomen. The floor swayed beneath my feet as I took a step back.

I stared at the red that was seeping through my shirt.

And yeah, so that was how I got into this situation.

It totally sucked to be stabbed. I can tell you that clearly but right now, if we stay at this position, I'm gonna get more than just one stab.

She slung my other arm over her shoulders, assisting me downstairs as red soaked my shirt and my pants.

My nose was swelling. I could feel it throbbing along with my already broken arm, the stabs, and what I think is a newly broken rib. The dull pain that was smothered by adrenaline washed over me. Sticky red liquid was dripping down my face. I winced with every step.

I heard Gabrielle occasional grunts. I honestly didn't know where she got the strength to carry me all the way down the stairs but nevertheless, she managed to do it.

If Ji Han were to wake up from that hopefully eternal slumber, the chances of him killing me—or us, is a hundred percent. I silently urged her to hurry up.

I heard the sound of the police sirens. I looked up, still weak and wobbling.

The door slammed open.

My gaze met the police officer's stare. Relief soared through my nerves.

I cleared my throat, a raspy whisper coming out of it "he's upstairs"
