I woke up this morning with a smile. It was currently Sunday which meant that tomorrow would be my first day of school. Over the past three day’s I had been hanging out with James and the Brooks brothers a lot. Skip had been busy so I hadn’t seen him since the family gathering a few day’s ago.

I hopped out of bed, entering the bathroom before brushing my teeth and running a comb through my hair. I changed into a casual pair of black skinny jeans with a off the shoulder grey top. I pulled on a pair of purple converse to complete the outfit, and then made my way down the hall.

“Hi mum.” I greeted, planting a kiss on her cheek.

“Oh hey baby, how did you sleep?” She asked, glancing up whilst buttering some toast.

“Good.” I replied sitting down onto a stool.

“So any plans for today?” I asked, stealing a sip of her tea. She took her tea off of me, giving me a disapproving glare.

“Well Aunt Kayla, Richard, Andrea and I are all going out for lunch, but I didn’t think you would want to come.” She told me.

And she was right, I defiantly did not want to come, it wasn’t exactly my idea of fun.

“Wait, so what is James doing today then, if he is not going to lunch with you?” I asked, munching on a piece of toast that my mum had recently given to me.

“Well I don’t actually know, but how about you go next door and find out after breakfast?” She commented.

“Ah yeah, sure, OK. Well I’m going to go grab my phone and then I will head next door.” I called, jogging to my room.

I opened my bedroom door and walked over to my bedside table, reaching over and grabbing my phone. I turned it on to see 3 new messages.

From: James (The Yammouni)

‘Hey, hey, hey :) Come over today? :D :) xo’

Sent: 10:27am, Sunday, January 28

From: Luke the Awesomest! ;)

‘Heeeeey pretty lady, come to James’ house now! That’s an order! ;)’

I looked over at my alarm clock on my nightstand. It read 10:53. I smiled to myself and made my way down the hall.

“Going next door!” I called to my mum.

“Alright honey!” I faintly heard her call back.

I reached the door, twisting the door knob before making my way outside. I twisted on my heel, heading in the direction of James’ house.

I knocked on the door once before it was opened by a smiling Aunt Kayla.

“Haley dear! Love to chat, but we have to go. James and the boy’s are out the back!” She sang, tugging Richard alongside her.
