Sometimes you don't need words to understand what somebody wants to tell you. Sometimes when you look in their eyes, you magically know everything.
"Maybe it was after all my fault that I had let her get away with what she did to me. But what could I have done? I was nothing but just a kid. But that doesn't justify the mistake I made after that. And I am ashamed to say that even after knowing what it could possibly do, I repeated that same mistake."
"What did you do Alexxia?" She wondered.
"Trust. I swore to myself not to trust anybody ever, again."
"That day in the nurse office, I momentarily forgot every promise I had made to myself. For a moment I forgot the consequences to trusting someone were. I almost let my gaurd down. Soon you will know why." I heave a sigh.
*Twelve years back*
"So um what's the time?" I asked him even though there was a huge clock hanging beside me. You can't blame me though. I had to get rid of the awkward silence that was hanging heavy in the air.
"The last period is about to end." Just then the electric bell rings and he smiles.
"Oh no! I am going to be late. I was supposed to be meeting Sarah at the cafeteria and Jason is going to kill me."
"You mean that petite girl you were screaming at?" Now he was try to get too close to me. "Hey! Who do you think you called petite just now? Take it back because its none of your business anyway." I narrow my eyes at him.
"Calm down, I was kidding."
Thats what everyone says. But I know better than trusting them. For a moment he got me blinded with his charms. But not any more. He will bring nothing but damage. Everyone in this world does. Do not trust him Alexxia. Do not make that mistake again.
I poke his chest repeatedly, "Only because I spoke a few sweet words with you doesn't mean you can interfere in my life. Don't you get your hopes high of being friends with me. Its not that easy. Thanks for being here and thanks for taking care of it. I will have your glasses delivered at your address. I am leaving. Bye." I climb off with my designer bag hung over my shoulder, all set to leave.
"Well, well, well" he claps his hands. I look at him skeptically. What the hell is he trying to do?
"Isn't it something to be proud of that Miss brat had spoken sweetly to me? I am not dying to be your friend here you know, if you misunderstood. I was simply concerned. You think you're the most popular girl who has tonnes of friends or should I say assistants tagging that invisible tail of theirs to get attached with your name and fame. But that is not friendship when they call you bitch and brat behind your back. So many friends and no one to even visit you when you're injured. What a laugh!"He pauses and comes close. Too close. He looks me in the eye. His eyes darken, "You're a good actor indeed. You couldn't make it any more convincing. But you don't fool me Alexxia. I don't know how but I can see right through you. What you meant and what you didn't."
With that he leaves the room, leaving me dumbstruck at the words he threw at my face. His face screamed anger but his eyes, his eyes said something entirely different. His eyes showed sympathy and pity. They had a storm of vulnerability and hurt brewing behind them. It was like he saw something in me that reminded him a distant memory.
"Why is my heart beating in such a rapid pace? Is it because of the proximity I faced a few minutes ago." I take a few deep breaths and sigh. "I will just deal with this later. Lets just go meet Jason, heart." I take off from the lonely room.
When I reach the parking lot, Jason stands there with a helmet, checking himself on the rear view mirror of his bike. God! This date is going to be hell-bent dangerous!
