Prologue

“LET’S all welcome the author behind the hit and best-selling book of the year, Remember!”

RJ can clearly hear the fans and readers shouting and chanting. It made him smile. This is not what they were all expecting. Akala nila walang bibili ng libro kapag inilabas na iyon sa market. But they got it all wrong.

The publishing company they used to work for didn’t agree on publishing that story, but his editor, Miss Ruby, pushed it through. Together with the help of her friend, Sir Allan, who owns a small publishing house.

Hindi nila inakala na ganito ang magiging impact niyon sa mga tao. Sold out ang libro sa kahit saang book store at marami pa rin ang naghahanap ng copy niyon.

Nilapitan siya ni Miss Ruby at tinapik sa braso. “You both deserve this, RJ. You and Meng.” She was teary-eyed. Alam niya kung bakit ganito na lang ito ka-emosyonal.

“Thank you so much, Miss Ruby. Kung hindi dahil sa inyo, none of this would have been possible. Ang laki ng utang na loob ko sa inyo ni Sir Allan.” Naiiyak na saad niya na tinanguan lamang nito.

“Now, go. Naghihintay na sila sa inyo.”

Huminga muna siya ng malalim bago lumabas sa stage. He was blinded by the lights the moment he reached the stage.

Malakas na sigawan ang unang sumalubong sa kanya. Ilang segundo pa bago siya nakapag-adjust sa liwanag at nakita kung gaano karaming tao ang naroroon.

Nilibot niya ng tingin ang buong venue. He can see the people smiling. May dala pa ang iba na mga banners. Maliliit ngunit marami. They were really that supportive.

“RJ and Meng! RJ and Meng!” They started to chant. Kasabay ng pagtaas ng mga ito ng banners na may pangalan nilang dalawa.

“We love you! We love you!”

He smiled at them. They are the reason why he's still here. They are the only thing that's left of her.

This is for all the things they went through together. For all the troubles and sacrifices. For the happy and sad moments in their lives.
