Day Twenty-Seven:
Chresanto...
My eyes slowly opened, and I immediately stretched out of my current position. I yawned and looked beside me to see Karen reading a book. By the looks of her, i knew she woke up moments ago. She looked happy and at peace. I'll soon demolish that.
I layed on my side to face her and she looked down at me. ''Good morning, Chresanto. You look a mess.'' She giggled. I smirked.
''How come i just woke up but you're the one with the morning breath.''
She rolled her eyes at me and returned back to her book. Maybe it's that book she's writing about me the other day. I chuckled internally and sat up. I guess today's the day that help will arrive. If they don't come today, Karen sweared to me that she'll beat my ass and cut my hair. Ha, please. She won't get a hold of this.
I looked inside the bag full of food and grabbed an apple that was still ripe, and a water bottle. ''So, Karen?'' I called out, and she looked up at me.
''If we- well when we get out of here, would you want to go somewhere?'' I took a bite of my apple, and un-screwed the bottle cap.
''Maybe.'' She shrugged.
I raised an eyebrow. ''What do you mean by ''maybe''?''
She smiled. ''Just..maybe. We don't have anything to keep in touch with so i don't see the point.'' She was stalling. She doesn't sound as liberated as i thought she would be.
''Karen,'' I laughed a little. ''just write down my phone number in your little book. And when your phone starts working, call me, okay?'' I persuaded.
She agreed and pulled out her book and a pen. I recited my number to her, and she kept it in her bag. Good for her. I'll be expecting a call from her now.
''And Karen?''
She turned to me again and annoyance. ''What.''
''I think you feelin' me a little. Am i right?'' I smiled at her and she scoffed. I don't know if she's trying to avoid me or if she's nervous. I'm going with a little bit of both. All of a sudden she started to laugh. I looked at her strangely. What the hell could she be laughing at.
''Chresanto, I'm definitely not ''feeling'' you right now.'' She cracked up. I heard her little accent again. ''And here's your shirt.'' She threw the shirt at my face. I had not notice that she had her clothes back on. She probably changed when i was asleep. After she finished laughing, she noticed my distasteful look.
''Oops, Chresanto. Why so glum?'' She ruffled my hair and smirked. I was mad but i didn't show her that i was. Before she got up, I grabbed her arm's with both of my hands and made her face me.
''I know you've got a crush on me, Karen! Just admit it and I'll let you scurry off.'' I cheesed. I sounded like a children impersonator. Karen shook her head and snatched her arms from me. I cocked my eyebrows as she smiled down at me. ''Never ever, Chres..''
And she skipped out of the tent. Oh Karen. When will she ever learn. I pulled on my grey shirt and pants, because i usually just sleep in my boxers, and sat up. I heard a strange laughter coming from outside the tent. And within a few seconds did i realize who's laugh that was. It was Kevin's.
''Not this bastard again..'' I mumbled.
That laugh will kill somebody. That somebody is me.
I walked out the tent to see Kevin and Clyde talking to Karen. Well, Kevin was talking to Karen while Clyde just stood off to the side. ''G'mornin', Clyde. Kevin'' I nodded. Now Joey in sight..
