Day Twenty-Six:

...

Chresanto...

...

...

''Over here! Hello!'' We called out repeatedly.

The smoke filled the air as we kept waving our arms in the air. I waved the blanket from side to side, hoping that we'll catch our attention.

''Good job, Karen. Your roar is catching them off guard!'' I joked.

I loved annoying Karen. She's always pissed off whenever i joke around with her and that's why i do it. She punched my chest hard suddenly and i clutched my chest.

''Swear to God, boy.'' She mumbled.

''Psh, it didn't even hurt, with them rabbit hands.''

I knew she'd be mad. I laughed at her and glanced up at the helicopter. It was hovering above us and i saw a ladder come down. I smiled and put down the blanket. The people in the helicopter yelled nd said to grab it. But once it reached us, it blew right off.

''Now what?'' I yelled.

I knew they couldn't hear us but i tried, right? Something came off the helicopter and landed right beside Karen. Hoping it wasn't so important, I picked it up and examined it. It was a remote. I was guessing to control some part of the helicopter. Karen took it from me and looked up at the people who were looking at us.

''Don't worry! We'll get'cha out of there!'' Someone yelled.

I couldn't see them well because the sky was beginning to darken. I grabbed the second flashlight Karen had in her bag and flicked it on. I shined it above and saw that more smoke was still running from the top of the helicopter. Oh Lord.

''This is it! Chresanto, we'll be rescued. Finally.''

''I wouldn't be too sure about that.'' I commented. She looked up at me and question why I'd predicted that. I told her the ladder flew away and there is smoke coming from the helicopter, but she was in denial. She was mainly focused that we'd be brought home, rather than staying here unsafe.

''Karen, if they were going to save us, why are we not on there since the past ten minutes? Look, even the engine looks like it's running low.''

''You're just focusing on the wrong end. Just think brightly of the situation and everything will be fine, okay? Okay good.'' Her accent was clearly visual again.

I rolled my eyes and thought ''brightly'' of this. Although it won't bring any help in this, i did it anyways for her sake. I then saw three people jump out of the helicopter one at a time. When there parachutes came, they landed somewhere away from us.

''What the hell are they doing?'' I yelled.

''Like i fucking know. Come on. When we find them, i'm gon' beat all of their asses one by one. They're supposed to save us. Instead, they're flying out of that damn helicopter like it'll explode any second. I'll show them what an explosion looks like.''

She marched straight into the forest, but i stopped her. ''Karen! Stop! The helicopter is falling!''

She looked up at the helicopter. It's wings fell straight off and oil began to flood out of it. It was about to crash. Karen ran behind me and we ran away, just in case it'll fall near us. In a sudden, a loud roar ran across the island, and an uproar from far off. I heard sniffling from behind me, and I seen Karen begin to cry softly. Her inferior expression wasn't accessible.
