Day Forty Two:
''So what now?'' Chresanto asked.
We'd been walking for over an hour, and we have found nothing but dead leaves and trees everywhere. There was Lot of bugs and ish and i'm starting to think there is nothing in this island or forest but useless junk. And it even appears to start sinking because there is more water on the land than there was before.
Or maybe i'm just looking into things in hesitation.
We sat on this unfamiliar green hill, wondering what we should do next. I sat next to Chresanto, and he rested his right arm around my shoulder. Clyde took a seat next to me too, and we admired the sun setting. At least there's something good coming of of this.
''I'm tired as hell. Can we lay around here 'til the morning?'' Clyde suggested, nudging me in the side playfully. I nodded.
''Yeah, i think we should stay here too. I'm getting kind of sleepy as well.'' I yawned and layed my head on Chres' shoulder, He agreed, and we found this large space a few feet away, and we decided to rest there until the morning. I couldn't sleep for a few minutes because i kept hearing this clanking sound every ten seconds. But i ignored it. Chresanto's grip on my hips loosened, so i was able to turn on my side.
The noise stopped, and i fell sound asleep.
....
A few hours later:
Crack of dawn.
....
I heard the sound of water crashing. Maybe there's a river around here somewhere. I rubbed my eyes and stretched, but noticed that the ground was wobbly. I slowly opened my eyes to see that we were floating on wood, in water!
''What the fuck?!'' I yelled.
I looked around me and saw Chresanto and Clyde next to me asleep. I viciously shook them in annoyance, and they woke up like they've never seen the world before.
''Ugh, Karen,'' Clyde stared. ''the hell you want? I'm tryna catch some Z's- what the hell?'' He now realized that were were not on the grass anymore.
''We're on water!''
''No shit, sherlock'' I mumbled.
''How we get here in the first place?'' Chresanto spoke in a raspy voice. I found it sexy, but that is not what we're dealing with at the moment! Stop!
''Well i don't know. Maybe the bugs carried us over here 'cause they hate us.'' I said out of frustration. I held his hands up in surrender, ''Sorry. You ain't gotta be mean and all.''
The water turned out to be an endless river. And land was so far in either side of us. I didn't know how to swim. Wait, how is there a river in this island?
''Can y'all swim?'' Clyde asked.
''Yeah i can. Karen?''
''I don't know how to swim.''
I was too scared to swim was what i wanted to say. Chresanto and Clyde exchanged looks. Chresanto insisted on carrying me while he swam. I nodded and looked over the land.
''Wait, where's Kevin?'' I questioned.
''This nigga'' Clyde rolled his eyes.
..
...
...
