I looked at myself in the mirror and decided not to just stay in my leggings and hoodie. I brushed my teeth, and quickly ran downstairs, making tea and getting watermelon. I cut up the watermelon and placed it neatly on a plate. I took the pitcher out of the refrigerator and poured three glasses. I took the pitcher, glasses, and plate to the living room and placed down everything just as the doorbell rang. I walked over to the door, smoothed out my shirt and opened it. To my dismay, it was just Zach.
"Oh, it's just you.." I said, trying not to sound too disappointed.
"What does that mean? Are you expecting someone?" He said as I waved goodbye to Noah's mother.
"Uh, actually, I am. Justin's parents." I said, locking the front door.
"What?! Why are they coming here?" He said, confused.
"I don't actually know, they called me, then said they were coming over." I said
"Are you gonna tell them, about y'know, the baby?" He said, looking around as if there was someone else in the house.
"Yeah, I have to, right? Also, while they're here, stay in your room. I wanna talk to them privately." I said, walking back to the living room.
"Yeah, of course, just make sure to tell them about the baby, they do probably wanna know. Also, can I go back to Noah's another day? I actually had fun." He said, surprising himself and me.
"Oh yeah, sure, what all did you guys do today?" I asked, sitting on the couch, gesturing for Zach to join me.
"Okay, so we had breakfast, then played a lot of video games, then we had lunch and then we went back up to his room and we k-- then you called and I had to come home." He said, cutting himself off and starting to blush.
"Uhh, what happened after lunch?" I asked, intrigued
"Nothing, Trish, nothing happened in his bedroom.." He said breaking eye contact and trailing off.
"Okay, little bro, 'nothing' happened.." I said, using air quotes.
"Okay, whatever, I'm going to the kitchen." He said, getting up off the couch, his phone falling out of his back pocket, falling face first onto the carpet. His phone vibrated at that exact same time. Now, look, I'm not the type of person to do this, but I took his phone and flipped it over.
