Noah's P.O.V
I was playing a game when my phone went off. It was Zach. I smiled, even before I knew what it said. I remembered what Trish said, to watch out for him. I smiled again at the the thought of what happened earlier today. I kissed Zach. It was amazing. It was brief, but it was good. He was my first kiss, he doesn't know that yet. You see, Zach doesn't have a lot of friends. He's not a loser, but he just isn't popular. I read the text message.
hey ik i was just over but will you get your mom to come pick me up? i wanna stay the night..
I looked at the clock on my phone. It was only 8, maybe I could get my mom to bring Zach over. I went out into the hallway when my phone started to ring. It was my mom.
"Hey mom, where are you?" I asked, looking around my house.
"I had to go to my friends house, honey. Why?" She said.
"Oh, I was going to ask you if you could come pick up Zach and bring him over. He wanted to stay the night." I said, blushing, even though nobody was around.
"It's not completely dark outside. Call Trish and ask if you can stay the night. I don't want two rowdy boys in my house, especially if they're alone." She said, laughing. I frowned at the idea of someone else being at home, but I guess it wasn't the worst thing ever. I quickly thanked her and hung up.
"Noah? Why are you calling? Is Zach okay?" Trish asked, concerned.
"Oh! Zach is fine, sorry to scare you. I was wondering if I could come over and spend the night? My mom isn't home and I don't like to be home alone." I said. It wasn't all a lie. I always got eerie feelings when I'm home alone.
"Sure! Text Zach and tell him. I can't come pick you up right now, so are you okay with walking?" She asked.
"Yeah, that's fine. Walking's fine. I'm fine." I said, rambling a bit.
"Okay! See you soon." She said, hanging up. Yes! I was going to Zach Taylors house! Were we gonna do more than what happened today? I thought to myself. No. Of course not, right?
Zach's P.O.V
I got a pretty weird text from Noah. He was coming over? I thought I was going to his house. Whatever, it was fine, as long as I got to see him. I started to reply to his text when I got a knock on my door.
"It's open." I said, knowing who was at the door.
"Hey, Zach. Can we talk?" Trish asked, not making eye contact with me.
"Sure." I said, putting my phone down.
"I just wanna say, sorry for y'know, blowing up earlier." She said, coming in and shutting the door behind her.
"Well, I mean like, I'm okay, I guess. I'm glad Noah's coming over. He... well, I guess he understands me, in a way." I said, not knowing how to talk about Noah without blushing.
"Have you told him, about -- y'know your scars?" She asked, gesturing towards my arms.
"I haven't told him straightforward, but I think he's seen them before." I said.
"Oh, okay. Uh, do you want therapy?" She asked.
"Uh, I wouldn't like to, but I think I'd be the best thing for me right now." I said, thinking about how I would feel if I was in Trish's position.
"I can set up an appointment for you, and if you're okay with going, you can keep going, but if not, you'll have to talk to me." She said, compromising.
"Alright." I said, looking away from her.
"Before I leave, do you and Noah want pizza?" She asked me. I thought about how I hadn't eaten anything today before answering.
"Sure. His favorite pizza is Meat Lovers and just get me regular cheese and pepperoni." I said, smiling to myself, thinking about Noah.
"Alright, I'll go order it right now." She said, leaving the room, not closing the door. I hate it when people do that. I got up to shut it when my doorbell rang.
