The ride was going to be long, maybe about an hour and the whole time, Nova demolished the silence that threatened to stay over them. Luna was fiddling with her one hand, as the other never left Namjoon's, from nerves or from just forgetfulness she couldn't decide, but her gaze was cast out the window; worst case scenarios running through her mind making her bring her fingers up to her mouth to bite on her nails. Nova caught the action and grabbed Luna's wrist and clicked her tongue.
"You're going to ruin your lipgloss if you do that,"
Luna visibly jumped at the contact and whipped her head to face Nova who was sat across from her in the limo with an unreadable expression on her face.
"I already ate like half of it anyway, I don't think it really matters at this point," Luna responded in a huff.
"I'm fixing it anyway," with this, Nova began digging through the clutch she brought along with her in a matching blue color to her dress, "now, part your lips and lean forward,"
Luna obeyed her, leaned forward in her own seat with her lips parted like Nova had asked her to do and waited for Nova to reapply the sticky gloss once more just to have it be ingested in the next 5 minutes. Nova swiped the clear gloss over Luna's still stained lips to then motioned her to rub her lips together to further spread the product around. Nova then reached up and grabbed Luna's chin to bring her face and gave the younger a quick flirty wink after checking to see if her makeup was still intact, to which Luna blushed and pushed Nova's hand away and leaned back in her seat all flustered. Nova smirked, fully ravishing in the fact that she could make Luna's heart thump so wildly. All the while, Yoongi was watching Nova like a hawk, but trying to look discrete about it since he didn't like the way she was toying with Luna.
"How's the mark?" Namjoon questioned Luna, making her turn to him with a pout.
"It's sore and this stupid collar is irritating it," Luna complained, pulling at the mesh fabric that was all frilled around her neck.
Namjoon laughed silently at Luna's complaint, glad that the mark wasn't burning or hurting at all. He then leaned his head against hers and she smiled, glad that there was some sort of affection being shared, although the side of his crown was kind of hurting her head.
"It's all gonna be fine, we'll stay for a little and chat. Then there will be a speech and a toast then we'll chat for a little longer, and leave. That's it, super simple,"
"That still sounds like a lot to me," Luna shot back, a pout firmly set on her glossy lips and eyes forward.
"Think what you want," Namjoon replied pulling his head away, causing Luna's own head to fall a little since she was resting it on his.
She paused for a moment, soaking up the atmosphere before speaking up again. Jimin and Jungkook were engaged in some sort of conversation with Taehyung, Hoseok, and Jin. Nova was touching up her flawless makeup in her handheld mirror and Yoongi looked like he was brooding from where he was sat while he was staring off into space.
"You promise?" Luna looked up at Namjoon with hopeful eyes, this better not be a mistake.
He turned back to her, confusion on his face.
"Promise what?"
"That everything will be okay,"
Namjoon completely softened up the second he looked into her eyes.
"Yes, I promise. You'll be okay," he reassured her to then press a kiss on the top of her head.
Luna smiled wide, liking the attention she received from Namjoon, it made her feel important and cared for, a feeling she likes all too much. Namjoon couldn't help the dimpled smile that appeared on his face after seeing Luna's expression visibly lightened. His action was purely on impulse, never truly sharing this type of domestic affection to anyone and it made him feel weird. But not the kind of weird that made him hate it, the type of weird that made him want to keep going, just to see her get all blushy and cute. He was turning soft, there was no denying that, and it happened so suddenly too. It was quite confusing for him to wrap his head around the whole ordeal so he just allowed himself to follow what he felt was right and that was to protect Luna and make sure she was happy.
