Jimin was silent when Yoongi gave his response, not knowing how to answer the statement. Luna was confused, the council? Obviously, these people or vampires had some sort of social or maybe political power over the whole vampire community, and if that is the case then Luna was totally and completely screwed. She didn't want anyone to get hurt for her, it made her feel guilty and selfish.
The basement was dimly lit by the one hanging light bulb in the middle of the room, but it was flickering every now and again, threatening to blow out at any moment. Luna had positioned herself at a slightly dusty table that showed to be quite old due to the obvious stains and outdated look it adorned. She was tapping her foot silently since the tense atmosphere made her feel uneasy; Jimin and Yoongi weren't helping since they would stand at the bottom of the stairs to listen for any noise and then begin to pace after around 10 seconds. Luna swallowed thickly, wanting to get rid of the questions that wanted to be asked and opted to curiously glance around the almost barren basement. There were some built-in shelves on the furthest wall from her that held boxes, big pieces of furniture, and storage bags filled with things. There was one thing that caught Luna's eye and that was a relatively big antique box that was a chipped forest green color with gold detailing. She couldn't help but focus in on it and think of all the things that could be hidden inside. Maybe they were hiding photos or maybe weapons or maybe it was something as simple as clothes that they simply didn't wear anymore. There was something alluring about the box though and Luna couldn't figure out why. There was a now burning curiosity to figure out what could be so important about it to her, but she knew she would never have the courage to figure it out.
There were heavy footsteps and several bangs and crashes from the floor above. Luna snapped her gaze away from the alluring box to now face the ceiling. Yoongi and Jimin- who had sat down on the floor to whisper quietly- jumped up with apprehension. There was now a bang on the basement door making Luna turn her head from the ceiling to the now struggling door out from where she was sat. There were several whacks on the door, growing harsher and harsher as they progressed. Luna was worried now, she didn't know what to expect at this point anymore. Her heart was beating fast and she could feel her chest tighten in anticipation.
Yoongi and Jimin were once more positioned at the bottom of the stairs, more alert and seemingly prepared for what could occur next. Then there were several different sounding crashes above them, Luna instinctively once more looked up at the ceiling where all the noise was coming from. The noise only lasted for a few seconds before it ceased with a final thud.
There was the sound of the door being unlocked and a newfound light was being flooded into the basement. Yoongi and Jimin visibly relaxed at the sight of Namjoon who stood in the doorway with fresh blood all over his hands, up his forearms and splattered on his shirt. He gave them both a small nod and disappeared somewhere out of view.
"Come on, Luna, we can go up now, it's all safe," Jimin coaxed, seeing that Luna was still staring up at the exposed ceiling, unknowing of Namjoon's current state.
Luna faced forward and walked over to where Jimin outstretched his hand for her to take. She accepted the non-verbal offer and allowed Jimin and Yoongi to lead the way back up the stairs. Yoongi closed the door and it made a small 'click' signaling that is was fully closed. They faced a blank wall and the option to go left or right; the right side had a slight glow to it while the left was almost completely dark.
Yoongi turned to face the left and saw the mess that was still on the floor. Some male, who had obviously tried to get down to the basement, was a mangled mess. His eyes were lifeless and his mouth was parted slightly while blood surrounded him from the huge gaping hole in his chest where his heart once was. Said heart was laying next to him, coated in a thick layer of blood. Yoongi glanced at Jimin as if to send a silent message to make sure Luna did not look down that way. Jimin caught Yoongi's glance and peeked around him to see the mess as well, he nodded. However, his action didn't go unnoticed by Luna who had also peeked her head around where Yoongi stood without their knowledge. Her eyes widened and her mouth fell open at the scene that was laying on the opposite side of her. Luna's stomach violently churned and bile crawled up to the back of her throat, forcefully making her swallow to rid herself of the feeling. The sight made her feel sick and fearful, feeling as if the dead man's eyes were staring back into her's.
